Hi.

You strike down on the strings while your palm is pressed against them.

It does take some practice but there are plenty of palm muting videos available on YouTube; I think marty Shwartz has a good one. You may get the timing of the mute by watching the slow part of this video.

Hi there.

Part two starts at the point where the singing comes in at the first verse, I only show part of it because that strumming pattern pretty much repeats throughout the whole song. Its just a guide.
