  • TR's are my favorite now, way better than T1's

  • the h6 there looks like it has like leather seats... did they take all those off or change them cuz all the h6s ive been on have the red felty type stuff on the seats

  • H2, 3 and 4: gotta love those seats

  • WAIT! I JUST HEAR SOME GOOD NEWS RECENTLY. I TAKE THE RIP PART OF THE SRT BACK! THEY ARE GONNA UPGRADE THE LINE TO HANDLE SUBWAY CARS! Or was it Mark II cars? But anyways, its gonna be extended and we are still gonna have the world's first ICTS system right here in our city! HALLELUJAH!

  • The T1s'motor is the Bombardier MITRAC, same as the TRs. I expect the TRs to have the same startup sound as the T1.

  • all H-series will retire by 2013. THe T1 will all be on the Sheppard and Bloor Line. The YUS will operate TRs, the system's new subway trains ***sniff***

As for teh Scarborough RT, RIP cause it gonna be a part of the future Scarborough Malvern LRT. Imagine that, the world's first ICTS system (Our system, in Toronto) is going down after the 2015 Pan American Games. When that happens we need to have a funeral for that.

  • I hate the red seats in the H6 trains now they look ugly.

  • I wonder how it will be if UTDC and Bombardier didn't take over ?

  • @cumberj001 Hawker Siddely would still have produced the TR but with a different design and different motor.

  • There's one difference between the H4 and H2 interior which is the longer seat by the window. You can see at 1:27 that the seat where the woman in the orange is sitting is longer and made for 3 people rather than 2 like the trains we have now.

  • The H1's retired in 1999, and the H2's retired in 2002.

  • Those red tamper-proof seats are from the late 90s, I think. I know during the 80s, the H4s had individual seats hard edges but plush cushions on the seat and back. But they were constantly being vandalized by stupid kids.

  • Those H1s were running well into the 90s, and maybe into the early 00s, but I could be wrong there. I would occasionally see them during rush hour, but not off peak hours. I don't remember if they were retro-fitted with air con like the other Hawkers that are still running today.

  • @308813062 T1s are great. The fact that the doors are wider are the best feature. The only negative thing is there isn't a bar or pole in the middle for shorter people like in the earlier trains.

  • the h5s are going to retire

  • They will after they move down to the Bloor line for a few years.

  • thats good news

  • @WiiGlitchHunter they won't be gone. They will be in service in south America

  • Great video man, bring back a lot of history. BTW, you mixed up the H2's and H4's

  • i miss the H1s and im gonna miss the H4s.

    So Sad

  • The T1s are my favourite too IDowney1988

  • They were the G series

  • Yeah, but I was probably to little to notice.

  • I remember back in the mid 70's when the subways were red. I wonder what series those were? :)

  • Those were the G1s

  • I wish they hadn't retired the H1's! They're the best.

  • That is a wonderful video I wish I was born around the time that the H1's and H2's and H3's were in service to see what they were like.

  • The H1's and H2's were all around until 2000. The H3's, which were experimental cars, were converted back to H2's in the '80s. The H1's and H2's should have been around the time you were born.
