awesome video. I like how you acted both parts of the interview. and now for some interesting information. I've had amazing excellent interviews yet I never got a call back. so bad job interviews don't always mean unemployment. good excellent interviews can also mean the same thing. it's a weird world where we live in.

As you implied, a job interview is about much more than qualifications etc. The interviewer is sizing you up according to their own style, desires and so forth, sometimes deciding whether or not to hire you from the first moment you walk into the room. So the secret of success is also to size 'Them' up as well.

They are asking these 'Irrelevant' Questions for their own reasons. Figure out why and work with that ;-)

Lol I give 5 stars. It's pretty much all true. I haven't applied to Kmart but I have had Professional interviews on the same lines as the indian guy and Kmart guy. A funny one I can think of was a job 150 miles away. My interviewer asked, 150 miles huh? Long way, I assume you're going to move? Na, Im gona drive 300 miles round trip a day. Anything related to wells fargo as well. They have the worst anti-employee hiring process. Its a 6 step process that starts out talking to some guy in india.

wow i have never travelled 150 miles for a job interview. mostly because i expect to fail at the interview anyway so i wouldnt bother...

i dont get the idea of job interviews.

fair enough if they asked us questions that relate to the job that might determine if we are suitable for the job. but they ask us questions that have absolutely nothing to do with anything... then they act like u definitely have the job. and most of the time u never get a call back..

I hear you on the unrelated questions. To be honest, I have no idea why they ask questions like......So, you graduated 16 months ago, what have you been doing? Um...Looking for a job. Oh, You haven't found one, how come? economy that bad? That is probably my most hated piece of conversation. They totally act like we are in a boom economy. One HR manager somewhere told me they ask weird questions to see how you react in embarassing situations.....I don't believe that. I'll give you my best theory

My theory is that the actual "HR Manager/Hiring manager" is relatively a new position. Many colleges started adding it as a major not even that long ago. Students go for it, learn practically nothing, then somehow, someway get a position where they are responsible or partly responsible for hiring and/or the hiring process. So in layman's terms, they ask stupid questions because they are unqualified and about 85% of the time they have no idea what they are talking about. (source) 30 interviews
