  • lol, Len! I saw this scene back in the day and it's still one hellva bomb-diggity today!

  • Tell that to George Lucas before he changes it lol

  • Gives me chills every time, just magic!!!

  • 11 people are deaf

  • Chills every time.

  • Most beautiful scene in cinema history. This is MAGIC

  • I'm going to start waking up to this song

  • i get goosebumps at the crescendo.

  • I really like phantom menace, clone wars and revenge of the sith but its not just same as original movies ..

  • This scene depicts Act I of Luke's overall story arc. Shortly before this scene he has been told he is needed on the farm and must put off becoming a fly boy. The wordless scene speaks volumes of Luke's frustration at having his dreams, his destiny, grounded. His is the look of longing of so many a boy who had been told he must sacrifice his dreams for the sake of the family. If only George Lucas could have kept the prequels as simple, silent, and crystalline clear as this scene.

  • this scene is made 1000x time more amazing and emotional by the brilliant score from John Williams

  • George Lucas must know about Sirius a: which is our suns mother... Just like the Egyptians the Hopis The Dogon of Africa and the Mayans knew!!

  • This scene always leaves me speechless. How is it possible that 30 seconds and no dialogue is better than Phantom Menace and Clones put together (Yes, I did like Revenge of the Sith)? This scene is so great, that I am certain George Lucas wanted to cut it! LOL!!!

  • This is really the best scene of all the story of the cinema. When you see it you understand everything ...

  • This scene in "Star Wars", was when I "Got" Film Music, & decided to become a Film Composer!!!

  • I almost start crying at this scene or music.I always must think of the time when i was a child and a huge Star Wars-Fan

  • @Ginger743 those reviews are good! I love the prequels, but he does point out major flaws

  • wunderful!!!! i love this music. it always get me cry

  • I wish we had to suns going together like that

  • This scene still gives me chills every time it's brilliantly crafted. You van feel likes frustration and how he knows he is destined for greatness but he isn't given a chance

  • Why do people say that the original is better than the prequels? Any subjective answers?

I just saw all six for the first time(without prior judgements-thankfully) and I loved the journey, the saga. However I preferred anakin's journey ore than luke's. Anakin's is so much tragic. Then I check opinions and I a shocked that people prefer the older ones. Don't get me wrong-they're great but a bit "childish" which is understandable. But I prefer darker, cynical films.

    I love all 6 though.

  • @rishi851 I also watched them for the first time recently- the originals have sort of a pure, simple brilliance to them. The intentions are clear, the characters memorable, the plot exciting. I like the STORY of the prequels, but putting the acting and amount of CGI aside, the plot is flat-out confusing and doesn't make sense, the lightsaber battles too choreographed, the characters unnecessary and inconsistent.

Watch the redlettermedia reviews- they're slightly offensive but funny and true.

  • @Ginger743 Totally agreed :)

  • One of the best scenes in the movie!

  • It's amazing how much a scene like this can say about a character, without a single word even being said.

  • I'm not a Star Wars buff, but this one scene with Luke is far more memorable than ALL of Anakin's whining in the prequel trilogy.

  • Wgat up KEPLER 16B??. Seriously ppl. google that, if your a big Star Wars fan like me it will make your day :)

  • Kind of coincidence with Harrison Ford. Knowing he road in the sunset with Sallah, Marcus, Dr. Henry Jones Sr. in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in comparison to this scene in Star Wars with Mark Hamill looking at the twin sunsets.

  • Boy it's so hot I can go for some delicious Yogurt! Especially with strawberries.

  • @KyleKatarn789 i c wat u did thar

  • "Thank you Skywalker for your humble offer to train me as a Jedi, buy my place in politics and serving the New Galactic Alliance of Coruscant." ~Kyle Katarn

  • My heart breaks for Luke. It's like Lucas doesn't give a shit about Anakin's son and his future. That's why he cancelled Episodes 7,8,9. What about Luke and his future? All GL cares about is the Prequel Trilogy more. Luke Skywalker 1st and always.

  • turmoil and turmult of the galaxy

  • Epic moment! one of my favorite! :3

  • Soothing.

  • sucks that this kind of wonderful scene can't be seen in SWTOR actually... I thought such a scene would be the no.1 reason to bring a Day/Night System in a game... well...

  • Now THIS is perfect

  • Every time I watch this, it brings tears into my eyes.

Best scene in movie history, ever created!

  • Chills.

  • 11 people are Wamp Rats.

  • Did anyone press the snowflake button?

  • @ammenheuserfamily

Yes! I didnt think it did anything special until now

  • I think this theme sums up the entire movie saga in one scene..

  • EPIC

  • thank you, george lucas and john williams :)

  • whoah really? i didn't even know I had the top rated comment. I thought people were just searching through comments and found mine.

  • this is my favorite song from SW of all tyyme

  • Isn't there supposed to be a more fast-paced version of this track? I guess mroe spectacular would be a better word though... Anyone?

  • I will never forgive George Lucas for fucking Star Wars up!

  • It looks so.. realistic. Not over the top future-esk like most recent Star Wars anything.

  • Bye bye, Star Wars Galaxies. You'll be missed.

  • Its Kepler 22b!!!!!

  • John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra everybody!

  • @Apophis150 i HEARTILY agree with you good chap!

  • @Apophis150 That is EXACTLY the reason I came to watch this scene!

  • Think this at you exam......

Telepathy the teacher and get all the answers

  • How can you dislike this.. be credible please

  • Amazing. This one scene captures the troubled melancholy of a boy coming of age and the intense inner turmoil he feels about finally having the power to decide his own future. Thanks for posting this classic scene.

  • whenever i feel down about something, i whistle this melody to myself, and think of a New Hope...

  • who knew the best piece of music in history would only be 36 seconds long

  • i love at the end of ep 3 u see baby luke and the family looking towards the sunset

  • No words can describe the feeling I always have while watching this.

  • @Janul2 I know how you feel cause i feel the same way but i can't describe it.....it's just one of those moments that just reach your soul you know....i just love this scene, i actually cried when this played at Vader's funeral!

  • @itchy539 Lol, you must have never taken drugs before. But granted, it is a very beautiful scene.

  • Aww thats beautiful!! I agree!! :D

  • I got the anthology set and Binary Sunset doesn't seem to be on any disk :(

  • 0:06 GET THE FK OUT OF MY WAY ROCK!

    0:14 Wow the sunset!

0:23 I needa get some new clothes

    0:26 I wonder if theres a Wal-Mart out there

0:33 Oh god clothes smell like ass better go change and do laundry

  • Only John Williams can make grown men cry with music.

  • @Tunkson Yeah, not that pussy, Danny Elfman!

  • @Tunkson He can, and also master Uematsu.

  • Guess why Luke was sent to this planet? Because Vader hates sand because it's coarse, rough and gets everywhere.

  • @artman40 Brilliant, just Brilliant

  • @artman40

Heard they were going to make the original trilogy remastered and have Darth Vader say that!

  • @sartanko NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

"Stop remastering, you're makin' it worse!"

  • @artman40 You posted possibly the greatest comment in youtube history! hahahaha

  • @artman40 One of the smartest lines I've ever heard

  • Best 36 seconds ever.

  • The Emperor disliked this 10 times.

  • I lack the eloquence to really describe in perfect detail how this scene makes me feel. It's almost like some kind of contradictory pairing of emotions, like a heart-breaking emptiness simultaneously with an immense sense of longing.

FUCK, John Williams is so amazing I want to die.

  • John Williams is an undoubtable genius!

  • Man do I remember watching this as a kid and longing too grow up, leave my rural home and experience life. Funny thing is...now I find myself longing to go back. Wonder if Luke ever felt that way.

  • I got here from ponies...

WHAT THE HELL THIS HAS TO DO WITH PONIES!

    ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

  • Big sun-Anakin

    Small sun-Luke

  • best scene of all time. this moment. when luke looks away and you get the first glimpse into the mystery that is the force. he is looking at the double sun and feeling that there is more to life then just being where he was. amazing. this scene i have loved for more then 30 years.

  • "There's two suns and no women. What the hell am I supposed to do?"

  • I AM CRYING...I FEEL LIKE LUKE IN THIS PART OF THE MOVIE...I THINK I WAS NOT BORN FOR BEING A FARMER, I THINK I WAS BORN TO BE SOMETHING DIFFERENT, NOT BETTER! BUT DIFFERENT....

  • @SkabCrowley It's in the title of the video. I see common sense oozes out of you

  • Best song ever, perfetct song, love you John Williams... Reminds me many memories...

  • JOHN WILLIAMS!!!

  • This is my favorite musical cue in movie history!!

  • i can feel the loneliness inside...damn i am start crying...

  • I'm afraid i won't be able to watch such a poetic scene in films made today.

  • Luke is like, "man...i'm never gonna get outta this fuckin place"

  • Still awesome!!! Still brings a tear to my eye...

  • beautiful music <3

  • best scene in movie history.

  • @erikajordan89 nothing happens lol. good cinematography though

  • @erikajordan89 actually the best scene in movie history was Phoebe Cates getting her tits out in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

  • @erikajordan89

only because of John Williams' score and this particular shot that George Lucas probably fought so hard against..

  • @erikajordan89 ...could not agree more :)

  • @ozfactor and that's why you're so awesome!

  • @erikajordan89 ...awwwww, thanks miss. all the best from Australia :)

  • Favorite of mine as well

  • I bet George Lucas is able to even bomb this.

  • @TrickyEmu If you mean he could make a film better then this, then hell no! He worked years and years on the script. He practically made himself sick putting so much effort into this... He even said he sees himself as a writer, less the experiential at least that's what I think he said, he either said experiential or something else, but he did admit that he wasn't a very good writer. Again, he worked more then 7 year on the script for the original star wars...

  • @matrixfan127 No. I meant. He would probably make it worse. Lucas has managed to destroy everything about the series. It's ridiculous.

  • @TrickyEmu yeah, i mean you can easily fit a couple more suns into that frame

  • @TrickyEmu He's planning to add four more suns, a pair of CGI battleships and the Jar-Jar cameo

  • @yeclix will you idiots quit fuckin speculating what george is not gonna add into this classic scene. If this scene wasn't changed in the blue ray stuff then its FINE. Quit being fuckin bitches about what george added. Putting that aside, this scene does rock!

  • @andross51 I find your lack of humor disturbing

  • @yeclix hah just proving a point that the so called fans that are hating lucas are stupid in my eyes. Btw that quote haha is the best line vader says in a new hope.

  • they should have named Kepler-16b Tatooine lol

  • lol nibiru

  • Gorgeous scene.

  • This scene alone is 1 million times better than anything in the prequels I think whos with me?

  • @12skolvikings sorry but there is one thing in the prequels that is as good as this scene-the binary sunset at the end of episode III

  • Lucas in the next revision of Star Wars will probably add monologue to this scene.

  • @Zotov13 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • how did they do this effect in the movie?

  • Guess what that galaxy isn't that far away...Kepler-16b (unofficially George Lucas star) FTW!!!

  • Did the music go up an octave?

  • Every time I watch this scene it makes me feel like I'm watching the movie for the first time and I feel like Luke standing there, thinking a lot of things are about to happen.

  • Comment removed

  • WOW... I just got chills! :) I love Star Wars so much!

  • obviously the best scene ever

  • Ahhhh the heart of the whole series. It's not a story of war, or cultures, or politics, or scifi... it's just a story about a person who desires to escape his surroundings and be a part of something larger than himself, knowing there is more to the universe than just his own existence. And Luke's longing gaze at the twin suns fits that desire perfectly... and that's what resonated with all of us and captured our hearts. I think. It did for me at least...

  • @HParker001 I like what you said, it made me think about my own place in the universe and how there must be more, so much more.

  • Comment removed

  • its amazing it invokes so many emotions that there is so much more out there and its just over the sunset...

  • I'll bet that this scene alone was the reason why this film won the Academy Award for Best Music, Original Score. I mean, sure this movie has terrific music all throughout it, but nothing can compare to this bit.

  • This seen alone is better than all the prequels put together.

  • In the next special edition, George Lucas will 'enhance' this scene by adding cgi images of Jar Jar Binks to replace the two suns and replace the music with the Benny Hill theme song, claiming that it is what he always intended the scene to be like.

  • oh god man. chills every time

  • If this is ever changed. I may just kill myself, some things must never change!

  • @TwitchXk90 Oh so true

  • probably the best scene in all 6 films.... represents the dreamer in all of us

  • Does anyone know the flute notes for this?

  • This is such a beautiful moment.

  • If only Lucas had been able to remember the simple things that made the first movie work, when he made the prequels.

  • John Williams may be the greatest person ever. God bless him

  • absolutely goose-bumps bringing music

  • Looks like we found our galaxy far far away :P

  • TATOOINE A SIDO DESCUBIRERTA

  • The new planet is a win.

  • This roxs as I cry wah wah :):)

  • I can't believe how many people had the same idea. We are awesome.

  • Everybody had the same reflex after read the newspaper... :D

  • @kunivin999 I didn't even know about this whole Kepler-16B thing, thank you guys for the update :)

  • Kepler-16b fuck yeah!

  • @morpheus91to WIN

  • Also remember we have to thank John Williams as the music is at least half of what makes this scene so good.

  • Thank fuck George didn't decide to put a computer-generated third sun into that scene.

  • @SawyerSauce LMAO i swear you guys hating george are FREAKIN idiots. However i can agree this scene no doubt doesn't' deserve any changes!

  • ( ;∀;)イイハナシダナー

  • I cannot believe they found a planet like that today... Amazing.

Hopefully one day we'll find one with life on it!

  • @Porcelanesa

well actually its a planet like saturn or jupiter and also it seems to be very cold, so not really like tatooine... but close ;)

  • They found it !

  • Thumbs up for Kepler-16b!

  • @SevenSixTwoNato The scientist have a lack of imagination.... they should to call this new planet Tatoine!!!! Kepler-16b! what a bored!

  • @dapcing Astronomers have already called another planet Tatooine :/

  • @SevenSixTwoNato

Kepler-16b is a retarded name on the planet. Anyone could've figured what it should've been called... ;)

  • @SevenSixTwoNato

    Oh, YEAH.

  • beyond epic.

  • This part still gives me chills, though I never understood why it did initially...I think it's the foreshadowing of destiny unraveling, windows in consciousness finally aligning properly, etc...

  • This is also called "The Princess Appears"

  • This is also called "The Princess Appears"

  • Most beautiful scene in movie history

  • My favirite Star Wars Moment...

  • Thinking about it, I believe this is among the best short moments in cinema history (if not one of my favorites)-- It is able to show a young man's destiny with a score and a sunset.

  • Thumbs up if you want Lucas to stop fucking around with the original episodes.

  • 322...Nice hidden reference to the "Sun and Sirius"...

    Who-WHO will watch The Watchers?

    OwlMan

  • greatest score for any film saga ever

  • damn... beautiful and this is why star wars will always remain the best

  • can someone find a midi version of this?

    ive been looking and find
