YouTube/CNN blew it. The actual reason they set a ratings record is because the RON PAUL supporters tuned in in droves because they felt that, since Ron Paul was doing so well via the internet, and YouTube in particular, Ron Paul was finally going to get viable questions and allowed to shine. Instead, YouTube and CNN alienated all the Ron Paul supporters by the terrible choice of questions, by ignoring Dr. Paul for the most part, and the obviously bias questions submitted to him.

I enjoyed the YT debate..it was really interesting. I would like to see more of these questions from the public BUT CNN has got to do the research of who submitted questions. I was disappointed in the debate. Was the purpose to entertain or educate? I scanned many of the questions submitted by the public but the questions chosen were tame and allowed candidates to lapse in their same old, same old spin. Personal attacks--Bad form. Who has the strongest faith? This I could do without. The song in the beginning...used up precious time that could have been devoted to more substantive questions and just maybe substantive answers.

If you didn't understand the bias shown on CNN by now, this "debate" should do it. As of today five, or maybe six, questions were from operatives of the Democratic party. I logged onto YouTube hoping to see some apology for their role, but as with CNN, there is none. We in the USA, like many countries around the world, have indeed lost the "free press".

When a "news" network chooses sides in politics it's not "entertainment", its dangerous. If what you said were true, PBS would give a balanced report on political matters...they don't. i didn't care much for the beauty pageant style and how only 30 seconds to answer questions that mandate more than that, i mean they're going in office for 2 years and forced to explain in 30 seconds? and not some many people on stage. it should be 30 min for 2 sets of randomly drawn candidates and those two duke it out, then another 2 and 30 and so on so giving each the same questions so we hear all sides and not just top tier.

YT debates: thanks for the "debate", it was quite productive. Not only have I made two videos showing CNN's inability to select good questions and get good answers, but pretty much everyone near a computer now knows how completely biased they are.

I am astounded that CNN and YouTube actually believe this debate was fair, open, and above board. The fact that CNN picked the video questions to be asked shows how manipulative main stream media really is. This "debate" was a travesty. What I would have preferred was one or two relevant questions to supplement all the unbelievable pointlessness that I saw. Those questions would have been answered by all candidates, who would have been given an equal amount of time to speak.

There is a candidate in every election that thinks he can simplify solutions for America's problems. If Ron Paul are going to play with the big boys he needs to be prepared for the tough questions with tough answers. After watching the debates last evening I have decided not to watch anymore debates or commentaries about who won and who is ahead. The media is not doing voters any favors by hosting biased debates or moderators biased opinions of who won.

YouTube/CNN blew it. The actual reason they set a ratings record is because the RON PAUL supporters tuned in in droves because they felt that, since Ron Paul was doing so well via the internet, and YouTube in particular, Ron Paul was finally going to get viable questions and allowed to shine. Instead, YouTube and CNN alienated all the Ron Paul supporters by the terrible choice of questions, by ignoring Dr. Paul for the most part, and the obviously bias questions submitted to him.

One other thing, I thought it was rather snobbish of certain candidates to not want to answer some questions from YT because they thought the video or question, was beneath them. They came off as, "I am too good to answer that!" Was a real turn off...but I guess helps us narrow down who we don't want to vote for!

I was disappointed in the debate. Was the purpose to entertain or educate? I scanned many of the questions submitted by the public but the questions chosen were tame and allowed candidates to lapse in their same old, same old spin. Personal attacks--Bad form. Who has the strongest faith? This I could do without. The song in the beginning...used up precious time that could have been devoted to more substantive questions and just maybe substantive answers.

If you didn't understand the bias shown on CNN by now, this "debate" should do it. As of today five, or maybe six, questions were from operatives of the Democratic party. I logged onto YouTube hoping to see some apology for their role, but as with CNN, there is none. We in the USA, like many countries around the world, have indeed lost the "free press".

They are not accountable to anyone or anything. Commercial-free news broadcasts have no axe to grind. Fox News is an entertainment channel that brings in the high ratings. When a "news" network chooses sides in politics it's not "entertainment", its dangerous. If what you said were true, PBS would give a balanced report on political matters...they don't. I am old enough to remember when taking sides in politics was never even considered by the (then) 3 major networks. You missed the point, the news networks haven't gone from news to entertainment, they gone from news to trying to influence the way this country is run. Most of us are tired of it.

As a Ron Paul fan I was quite disappointed with the questions he received. One of them was about if he will run as a 3rd party candidate. Why is the hypothetical activities of the candidate's a concern if they don't get the nomination? It seemed like an attempt to discredit Ron Paul as a potential contender. Another question he got was about a North American union and was framed so that it sounded like a silly conspiracy he was associated with. Why not give him more serious, unbiased questions?

i didn't care much for the beauty pageant style and how only 30 seconds to answer questions that mandate more than that, i mean they're going in office for 2 years and forced to explain in 30 seconds? and not some many people on stage. it should be 30 min for 2 sets of randomly drawn candidates and those two duke it out, then another 2 and 30 and so on so giving each the same questions so we hear all sides and not just top tier.

YT debates: thanks for the "debate", it was quite productive. Not only have I made two videos showing CNN's inability to select good questions and get good answers, but pretty much everyone near a computer now knows how completely biased they are.
Perhaps Youtube should consider hiring the world's best reputation managers should they continue their relationship with CNN.

I am astounded that CNN and YouTube actually believe this debate was fair, open, and above board. The fact that CNN picked the video questions to be asked shows how manipulative main stream media really is. That YouTube agreed to this indicates that YT is either gullible or culpable in this farce. I withheld my skepticism and waited for the debate to be aired. Now I know what to expect. I'm done with CNN and YouTube debates.

Considering this was an internet based debate, considering Ron Paul has more internet support then all the other candidates combined, and considering he's raised more money then any other republican candidate, I can't for the life of me figure out why he got so little time to not only answer questions but to defend himself against the accusations made against him. The questions were lame and the answers given by all the other candidate even more lame. Thumbs down all the way!

Like many other forms of media, CNN is controlled by a large corporations within the US.
None of these big corporations want Ron Paul in office for many reasons, but simply put it's because Ron Paul would expose the lies that are intentionally put into the news. In the end, the People would become wealthier and not the corporations. These owners of corporations are monopoly men and they love control. Ron Paul would relinquish the power and control of the US to the people.

This "debate" was a travesty. What I would have preferred was one or two relevant questions to supplement all the unbelievable pointlessness that I saw. Those questions would have been answered by all candidates, who would have been given an equal amount of time to speak.
This debate was clearly set up to maintain the status quo of the polls, giving more time to those candidates who are supposedly polling higher. CNN, my respect for you dwindles.

This was no debate. This was a farce. CNN and all of it's hired shills were out in full force. The questions, for the most part, were idiotic and 'planned' to embarrass. The revelations of the retired general working for the clinton campaign, the very limited time alloted to Ron Paul (as compared to the other candidates)and obvious bias were major embarrassments for CNN & Youtube, IMO.
Youtube, you can do better. Don't sell out to the MSM.

also,Ron Paul was one of the only candidates i believe,that was never allowed to answer a question with the allowed 90sec,he was allowed 30 seconds on all answers.
They also didnt allow him to talk during the big issues,which he has great answers for.

The bush regime sought to turn the spotlight on the immigration issue which they created. Since bush took office over 5 MILLION ILLEGALS have crossed into the US from messico. This was done to divert our attention from 9/11 and its backfired. The immigration issue has taken center stage and would be candidates are swamped as to what to do. The american people are asking questions and demanding answers.

I think Ron Paul won even with the little exposure CNN gave him. He is the only Republican Candidate who has a chance to win against the Democrats. You only need to watch the movie Red Dawn to know Ron Paul is right about why we need to leave the Middle East. Not out of fear as the other candidates suggest but because it is the right thing to do!

Great provocative questions. Groundbreaking production. Anderson Cooper was horrible and could not control the situation unfortunatly. This did however separate the petty politicians and phoney sales techniques(McCains faked seriousness was embarrasing). from the statesmen. Time rules and allocations run amuck. But it's progess. With their crowd meter of a minority of undecided voters, that totally manipulated the majority of non-critical thinking viewers, and totally ruined the debate entirely. Why can't news corps let the people see a clear, unbias view of the canidates, always messing with the general publics way of thinking!

Of all the responses, Which candidate is the straight shooter. Ron Paul! His message is in his heart! The Constitution is in his heart! He wants freedom for the individual and what could be wrong with that. It is time for the pendullim to swing back to the people and smaller government, to protect us, not police us!

After watching the Republican and Democrat YT debates, I think it's a shame any of these people are going to get elected. Since one of them has to, I feel more in common with the non-front runners, but it's obvious to me that it's basically going to be Hillary and Obama. The only question is who's going to be the VP
