  • Why the hell is everyone splitting hairs about what makes a good musician? Stop wasting time and just appreciate the music.

  • WTF???!!

  • Oh my fucking god.

  • Funny, I never knew he played in gnr until a couple of days ago. Was slightly aware after listening to old freak kitchen and thought he sounded pretty cool.

    More power to him :)

  • Life

  • emotion @ 1:46 for those who dont know the feeling of awesome. feeling of awesome @ 0:00. argument solved!

  • The People Who Can't Play Fast Are Usually The Ones Talking Bout Emotion .. Funny ! :D

  • @pgodart You are assuming that all "emotional" musical passages require slow speed.

  • So the guy can shred, he just can't manage much melody.

Speed with minimal feel and emotion unless your on crystal.

  • @greenarcher180 Emotion is subjective, I actually think there is a lot of emotion here.

  • @greenarcher180 i can feel the emotion, your brain just cannot comprehend it because of the shear break neck SPEED!!!

  • @greenarcher180 I suspect your definition of emotion in music is slow bends and cliche pentatonic licks.

  • Lol we are both Jeebus lol

  • I never quite understood this best guitarist argument either. As a guitarist myself I never considered one's technical abilities and theory knowledge as a barometer for judging who's a better musician than who. As the late great Shawn Lane once said, it doesn't matter what technical level you're at as long as you produce good music.

  • I want this played at my Funeral.

  • Imagine bumblefoot and buckethead together. MINDBLOWN.

  • -puts hands on both sides of head- AAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! -face melts off, ears desintegrate, and eyes fall out of head- AAHHHHHHHHH!! -head explodes-

  • If Jesus played guitar and would be more or less ... :P (soy latino)

  • Put on your headphones, close your eyes and fuckin grind your teeth!

  • <333

  • Guitar sucks , Drums rulz !!!

  • This intro gave me an erection.

  • How is this even possible

  • I always break my air guitar trying to play this

  • Some should make an 8-Bit version of this, lol, epic boss battle!

  • Meanwhile...... john petruccis house (john) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • the reason he wrote this song was probably got mad at his parents cause they bought him a shitty ibanez as his first guitar

  • @checkitoutguys1 The fuck Ibanez only made kick ass guitars in the 70's

  • Cool speed piece!

  • my friend: 'is too soon to call bumblefoot the hendrix of this generation?'

me: 'no hendrix was the bumblefoot of his generation'

  • @kernelflack Fag

  • Guitar Jesus!! Slash is not a guitar jesus I don't know why they say that

  • @RoadkillsThe Slash is sooooooooooooooooo damn overrated.

  • @GuyNamedCarl thank you

  • @ilovemoney161 So can Bumblefoot look up "Guns N' Roses - November Rain live 2010 @Reading"

  • This sounds very neoclassical. AND I FUCKING LOVE NEOCLASSICAL METAL.

  • @ilovemoney161 Hell NO, YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND DUDE

    BUMBLEFOOT IS 5x BETTER

  • Guthrie Govan dominates ALL

  • did i hear it right?? did he just play PAGANINI?

    INSANE!!!!

  • Cool

  • As amazing as this sounds, from what I've seen, its mostly simple tapping... just inhumanly fast

  • @Twixgtx Tapping and hybrid picking.

  • @ilovemoney161 indeed

  • I'm working my way thru a "10 greatest shredders" list and this was 4th (its not a top10). This is really, really cool and I dont normally like the OTT guitar buzz

  • 1:48 Favorite part, so soothing.

  • reminds me to dragonforce

  • @Stargate674

    o.o

hes like the guitarist of dragonforce, on steriods.

  • @Gr1zz3m no way in hell, herman li sucks. well not kinda ''suck'' but he tries to play too fast

  • @Anghorn32

    "On Steriods"

this guy is like Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen... with a jesus beard :3

he did the solo to Shacklers Revenge - guns n roses

hes one of my favorite guitarists. i miss playing the guitar....

  • @Gr1zz3m 0well pick up the guitar again dumbass!

  • @Marzz5585

nah, i dont have the fingers of a guitarist, im happier blasting on drumsets than playing guitars.

Im much better at it too.

  • @Gr1zz3m steroids?... yhm... ok, didn't know that made you better at the guitar :p

  • Yeahhh Ctm !!!

  • tedioso...

  • I absolutely insist Guthrie is a better guitar player, but he says Ron is, so who the fuck am I to argue. Certainly #1 and #2 though, chose your order ;)

  • After Shawn Lane passed there are only a handful of players still continuing to pioneer experimentation with guitar and guitar sounds, Ron Thal being one of them, and also Mattias, Guthrie Govan, Buckethead, Christophe Godin, etc. They don't have the same impact as Shawn did but I'm sure glad they're around.

  • I'm Jeebus. lol

  • Jeebus Kriest, this is epic.

  • nice :D

  • someone give that man a blowjob

  • Yes this is GOOD ! GUITAR SUCK !!

  • wow... someone enjoys their tapping

  • Comment removed

  • @HWT78

    and sweeping and arpeggios.

  • Im Jeebus lol

  • Bumblefoot just did the theme music for "Brimstone & the BorderHounds" the Animated series based on the book. great intro !! You tube it !! hes also going to be one of the voices in the cartoon !

  • It's like squeadlie vs. Medely here!

  • It's... so... SQUEALIE!!!! How can I get tone like that? O. o Like Michael Lee Firkins. HOW DID THEY GET PERFECT TONE?! D:

  • now guitars seriously do suck. no skill just speed. i know.

  • @hepheastus01 You, sir, speak out of your ass.

  • @hepheastus01 For sure, NO skill what-so-ever... Because "everyone" can play this as well as breathing... Correct?

  • i would laugh my ass off if i saw a backing track for this posted in youtube xD

  • jeebus is a homer simpison classic

  • Sounds like the soundtrack to the last boss in Serious Sam.

  • There comes a point when you can't compare guitarists anymore. When it comes to Buckethead, Bumblefoot, Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen, Jason Becker, John Patrucci, Jeff beck, Chris Broderick, etc. There is no better guitarist.

Depending on their style they specialize in their own skills, techniques and sounds. That makes them all different, and thus more unique listening pleasure for us.

There is no best guitarist, they are all gods for fuck sake

  • @molomono Yes!!!

  • they don't

  • Bumblefoot vs. Yngwie Malmsteen. Who'd win?

  • @animemental1 Who cares? Cause GUITARS SUUUUCK!

  • @animemental1 - bumble because Malmsteen is one dimensional. Awesome but limited.

  • @animemental1 malmsteen

  • @animemental1

malmsteen is a pioneer of the shred genre, but he failed to evolve and can be very repetitive. some people like guthrie govan and buckethead are able to use their repetitiveness while still doing new things and making it hard to catch, but malmsteen never really learned to do that. he uses the same patterns and ascends and descends across the fretboard the same way far too often. i say bumblefoot because of this.

  • he`s a lot better than buckethead

  • @cmFfBACK

    No.

    Just no.

  • If Bumblefoot did an album with Guthrie Govan :O ....

  • @crazyboyxx

Lol well to be fair that song is super catchy, but I only favorited it because it's somewhat of a school joke that makes me laugh.

  • 12 people eat babies.

  • dude. guitars suck. guitars suck. GUITARS SUCK

  • @Spider3717 Eh. It sounds pretty damn good to me. If you want fast then listen to Shawn Lane. This song is actually well structured, imo.

  • @CyValkarion The piece's structure actually reminds me of certain Chopin (et al) etudes. Take Op. 25 No. 10 for example: crazy octaves in the intro, slow melodic middle section and then a recapitulation of the insanity.

Ps: Lane rules and his album material is very well put together as well. His live stuff is always blazing though.

  • @KeithWhalen11 Bumblefoot actually does a chopin piece.

  • @dakkenly Yeah, Fantaisie Impromptu! Structurally it shares a lot in common with this and many other Chopin pieces; ABA format.

  • @Spider3717 Spider is really witty. Unfortunately he failed to comprehend that this entire song was made with just one objective in mind: the biggest over the top wank piece imaginable (to consequently enter an absurd shredding contest). Therefore little spider here sounds a bit ignorant. You know, dissing something he doesn't understand the basics of. Like every other loud mouthed internet badass...

  • @Spider3717 I guess it's better reading this than being blind...

  • "I'm Jebus" LULZ!!

  • this man is inhuman. no human can b this amazing at guitar. he's insane and deserves to rule the world.

  • @drakemohr1 What about Joe Satriani? Huh?

  • @drakemohr1 he's not human. he's a bumblefoot.

  • @drakemohr1 HES THE BEST GUITARIST ALIVE, HES WICKED

  • the use of the thimble technique for that is just a madness idea ^^ damn this guy is crazy ^^

  • Bumblefoot is legendary! He was able to go from being underground, to being in GUNS 'N ROSES! Guns 'n Roses was legendary, but it's just too damn bad they broke up ;_;

    I miss GNR!

    I miss Slash!

    Also, where is bumblefoot now?

  • @emhass - touring with Guns and Roses ^_^

  • @Hardysamnin Wait I thought they broke up! They got back together again?!?!?!?!?

  • @emhass - I don't think they ever split lol. I have Ron as a friend on facebook, and ever since he accepted me, his page is being updated with whatever country he is in on tour. They might have just had a break from touring possibly.

  • @Hardysamnin Holy shit are you serious?!?!??!? You KNOW Bumblefoot and have talked with him?!?!?!?!? Omfg!!!!!!!

  • @emhass - Lol no, i've spoke via that site a couple of times but i certainly don't know him. You can only have 5000 friends so i was lucky enough to get in there early. There's another site on facebook though, a fanpage he runs that has all the latest photo's and updates on it.

  • @Hardysamnin Sweet! :D

  • @emhass An eternity above slash..

  • @kuronity Maybe!!!! o_0!

  • @emhass I love new gnr but I get where you are coming from. I mean sure it is a different experience with old gnr but if slash got together new gnr wouldn't be much different I mean Axl would still wanna play chinese democracy songs and both of them wouldn't have the amount of energy they used to have a long time ago so no jumping around like they used to.

  • @diablo9333 That sucks. :( Oh and one more thing. I have the Encyclopedia of Heavy Metal, and Ronnie James Dio even wrote the foreword! But my friends STILL dont understand it's a valid source of information even though Dio himself said that it's the best metal source that he's had! Guns 'n Roses is CERTAINLY metal!!!!!!! Right?

  • @emhass Yeah guns is metal. New guns is old guns is hard rock.

  • @diablo9333 Ahh, kk. Well the Encyclopedia I have is from 2003. The book isn't wrong right? Cuz the author actually works for NBC I think.

  • @emhass Troll, thy hath succeed in trolling.

  • @DeathToNewbie Excuse me? Im not a troll!!!!!!!!!

  • @emhass It's metal now? By what standard? Symphony X is metal. Ratt is metal. Nevermore is metal. GnR? In my opinion, that's a stretch.

  • saw a live video of Bumble performing this, and halfway through I had to stop watching... that video made me realize just how poor I am at playing guitar :(

    wake up call from hell..

  • I like the tribute to "Wild One" by Yngwie :D

  • @Liturgyofwar Yngwie sucks.

  • @xParasiticx

Well it's one of the main influences on basically every shredder and a main influence on Bumblefoot as well.So yeah, keep telling yourself that lol

  • i think we found god. jesus is hiding behind a bucket and a mask (buckethead) so this MUST be god!

  • there is a time for music and then there is a time when i will listen to something more melodic like eric johnson. both are essential to my playing

  • 8 people think guitars suck...

  • I love the oprah singer lol!

  • @JustShutUpAndSkate WTF is an Oprah singer? Bumblefoot himself did the singing in this one.

  • wow cool =o!

  • its funny, im sure there were plenty of pianist violinists, chelloists etc etc who could play their instruments faster than, chopin, beethovan, strauss, etc i just wonder who they were...

  • Wow... I should've started listening to Bumblefoot sooner! This is great.

  • music is like candy you through out all ther rappers.

  • You can play extremely fast and still suck, it still takes musical knowledge to know what and where to play to sound good, fit the tempo n everything else, and bands who play slow songs could be leagues better then bands that play fast (ex DRAGONFORCE SUCKS) its just how they want to play and how they express their emotions, you know music isnt just about how fast people can rape instruments ;)

  • Which classical music piece does this resemble?

  • @ketchupisevil Flight Of The Bumblebee?

  • @MassacreTheGods There's a guitar cover of flight of the bumblebee and it sounds nothing like this.

  • @ketchupisevil Whoops, my bad bro; you're right. I guess I just kinda saw the similarities between the two songs, as they both shred "happily", if you get my drift. My bad.

  • I think the song is ironic. It's crazyawesome shredding for the sake of shredding.

  • sorry, but this doens't impress me near as much as guys like Robert Johnson, Link Wray and Eddie Cochrane. Honestly, guitar work like this and songs by Dragonforce, Steve Vai and Malmsteen just aren't as impressive. For the most part it really is playing fast for the sake of playing fast. It's impressive they can move that fast, but doesn't make them anywhere near the best. Just my opinion so no one needs to go into a rage over this.

  • @kingjollygreen - There is a difference between being a great guitarist and great songwriter. I agree that these guys are great at guitar, but not necessarily as good at songwriting. However there are some real gems in their albums that cross the barrier, for example "tender surrender" by steve vai, is full of emotion and great righting, it has shred in it, but its like a test to see how much you can shred while remaining mellow and tasteful, its like polished, shred mellowness

  • @brainphreak

true, but steve vai isn't always the best performer. it drives me nuts when he overuses the tremolo and bends every note of tune. he is a great songwriter, but as far as performing goes he bends a lot of his notes out of tune which is a big no-no for me.

  • @kingjollygreen - Oh yeah another great example is buckethead. Much of his music is atonal or robotic in nature specifically to bring you that technical sound of robots attacking. Then on some albums its 100% emotion like "Electric Tears". Some people say he has no soul or feeling, but those people must have only listened to his robot stuff, written specifically to have less feeling, like that of a robot! Mission accomplished, but if your looking to music to get emotional, you wont like those.

  • @brainphreak

haha so true. buckethead is just versatile like that. one moment he will be playing some weird robotic sounding stuff, then he will be playing some cool sound rock instrumentals, and then he will be playing a highly emotional guitar ballad. i can't think of a guitarist that plays as many genres as buckethead.

  • I'd chop my dick off to play like him

  • @cody13smith Are you kidding, id chop of my dick AND my balls to play like him!

  • Comment removed

  • i think this is the hardest song to play on guitar

  • @necrofilic0profago id say the butcher by rusty cooley might be lil more difficult...not that it matters of course =) BUT just saying it might be =)

  • Dude, YT commenters going on about pointless shit suck.Dude, YT commenters going on about pointless shit suck.

Dude, YT commenters going on about pointless shit... SUCK!

  • Undisputed evidence that they don't :D

  • Reminds Me Of Cacophony. Quality!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what ever happened to just simple solos that had a melody a human can relate to?

  • @13KeY37 - It was replaced with the old school classical way of playing, I.E. technique, composition and vast knowledge of theory. It's been that way for centuries, its only relatively recently that "simple solo's" have been around.

  • 0:00 - 0:06 a phone call "complaint" from a "ranter"

    0:07 - 3:15 their response to it X)

  • LOL that does look like a spider.

OMG bumblefoot is a master of electric guitar!

  • too bad that he and Buckethead couldn't create something together

  • @CarlosTevezNR1Fan

    Well, Shackler's Revenge... =O

  • @FreenInGreen yeah but i meant at the same time Buckethead had written something for Shackler's Revenge and then Bumblefoot performed on it

    i think

  • 1:50 - 2:40 his way of taking a break: Slowing down. XD This dude's awesome! x]

  • a shame he plays with guns and roses now =/

    a true hero!

  • @tmvestbo He married my cousin and he told her that is was the worst decision of his career because he doesn't drink or do anything like that. Everybody else in the band does.

  • @JuggaloBorat

thanks for the info =) he is one of the greatest!

  • Comment removed

  • Watch the youtube video, "Guitar Hero Custom- NO U"

  • Even though i'd love to be able to play this, I wouldn't give up my slow (albeit shitty) blues jams any day. Much more rewarding as an artist, than to wank for 3:15 and call it a song.

  • @Zeraninator Then go watch slow blues videos and shut the fuck up.

  • Did you get the general message I was trying to convey on my comment? Obviously not, you fucking asshat.

  • @Zeraninator Go fuck yourself. Everytime you'll try to answer me, I'll come back to insult you. It's up to you. OK?

  • This is an answer to your comment.

  • @Zeraninator Ha! Ha! Funny! But you didn't insult me, so I won't insult you. Ha! Ha! That was actually funny. Coming from you, that's a surprise.

  • Coming from me, that's a surprise? You don't even know me...

Unless that was a hidden insult. Stop with the mindfux, kay?

  • @Zeraninator Artist??? Cool !! What stuuf have you done?? I love blues

  • Anybody is an artist. It;s what you make of it. That being said, i'm not professional, nor have I recorded anything.

  • @Zeraninator What about being able to do both? Are you implying that Bumblefoot can't play slow blues because he can play fast? Not that it's relevant, it just kind of irks me.

  • I don't believe I implied that. I know I said i'd never be able to do what Bumblefoot is, but I don't think I said the opposite.

Oh, and I appreciate you not being a complete ass like almost everyone else in the comments section.

  • I remember the first time I heard this solo, I was like how the hell does he do that... to this day i still wonder the same thing lol Ron Rules!!!
