  • you stupid cunt i would eat your fucking heart my family escaped ireland during the english genicide and breeded with vikings i'll fuck you up no words just fist you limy fag

  • I am from the UK and love this song. Sinead has many fans all over the UK. This song did not damage her carrer, the UK is opened minded about such art. When Sinead insulted the pope her career nose dived as Catholics in the USA and Ireland turned their backs on her. Sinead is special and has never been fake.

  • A LOVELY SONG. BUT GIVE US THE LYRICS, PLEASE!! SHINNAIDE O'CONOOR IS FAMOUS FOR BEING FAMOUS, NOT FOR BEING TALENTED. EVEN SO, THIS IS A NICE SONG. IF ONLY ELVIS OR MADONNA HAD RECORDED IT! ER, ON SECONDS THOUGHTS .... !

  • @squirell1952 How come you've never said you loved me

In all the time you've known me

How come you never say you're sorry

    And I do

    I do

  • @squirell1952 Ah, please talk to me Englishman

What good will shutting me out get done

Meanwhile crazies are killing our sons

    Oh listen - Engishman

I've honored you - hard Englishman

Now I am calling your heart to my own

Oh let glorious love be done

    Be truthful - Englishman

  • Respond to this video... I love you my hard Englishman

Your rage is like a fist in my womb

Can't you forgive what you think I've done

And love me - I'm your woman

And I desire you my hard Englishman

And there is no more natural thing

So why should I not get loving

    Don't be cold Englishman

  • You are so beautiful.

  • we gratefully accept the right of Scottish born clan's to be of irishblooded descendants, why would we not after all us Irish follow Celtic as if they were from Dublin and not glasgow, we are who are blood is and not where are decendants sailed of to, after all god loves us Irish...

  • @irishblood62 - WHEN I ROME, YOU DO AS THE ROMANS DO. IF YOU ARE SCOTTISH, THEN BE PROUD OF IT. SCOTLAND/ALBA-LAND/PICT-LAND IS AN ANCIENT PLACE AS IS, OF COURSE, WALES. IN FACT, WHAT IS NOW "MOTHER ENGLAND" WAS ONCE ... WALES. READ UP ON IT. IF THE SOUTHERN IRISH WANT TO BE SHOW-OFFS, LET THEM. THEY DO NOT DISPLAY PATRIOTISM. WHAT THEY DISPLAY IS NOTHING SHORT OF PURE CHAUVINISM. YES - CHAUVINISM. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT WORD MEANS, THOUGH, OR ITS CONTEXT HERE. SO THERE YOU ARE!!

  • Its about time the great & proud Celtic people of Britain and Eire realised that our threat is from the socialist/communist E.U. agenda against our beautiful lands and not from each other!

  • The British people in N Ireland want to be British it is their choice. I am from England and like Ireland and the UK. I hate violence from either side. The USA still holds native American lands, Hawaii and Mexican land. Those people would like it back.

  • heck the Vikings left but the British wont

  • @fjordking Vikings are still here. The British and Irish are made up of many Irish groups.

  • what a perfect vioce she has I wish she sould sing more

  • Tha's okay. I understand the worst of it, because it's in me, and I know & feel it, but I'm just American.

  • This is my favorite era of Sinead...Gospel Oak/Screaming Orphans phase. Love it.

  • Man ...

  • I was born and raised in the US. I consider myself a Celt before an American. I would spill my blood for MY people in a hot minute. I didn't choose to be born here. My heart is in the land of my fathers! FREEDOM TO ALL CELTIC NATIONS! ERIN GU BRÀGH!

    ALBA GU BRÀTH!

    SAORSA NO BÀS!

The sad part is half of you people telling us we shouldn't have pride are my brothers and sisters. You've lost your way..

    Read the Declaration of Arbroath.

  • @Hardcoresbwf Its actually the Treaty of Arbroath, and Erin go bragh, but wtf! Like you, I'm proud of my Irish heritage, my name is a County in Ireland. The British (sad to say I'm considered one, again, not my choice)shuld've never 'occupied' Ireland in the first place. B@stards

  • @HardyGirlx

    True.

But the Romans should not have occupied england.Keeping alive age old injustices helps no one , especially the peeps of Norn irn.

  • @Hardcoresbwf

choinneáil ar an creideamh mo dheartháir

  • beautiful~peace

  • Who is it that benifits from Division ?.. What has been achieved. since 1916.?

Child abuse supported by the De Velara Government? How many children needed to suffer for his cause?

  • Amazing

  • ( I just noted that some people are noting skin colour and hair colour.....ummm....get a grip dudes....)

the main thing in the world right now is the LACK of IMMIGRANTS accepting where they are immigrating too.

    there ways ...there beliefs....etc

if someone wants to JOIN them, they have to want to be part of what is already there, not change it....

    I think that covers it...

immigration is people wanting to JOIN a different culture, NOT change it.......

    Questions?

  • ok dudes...i have obviously missed some good stuff..... My dad is an Irish and Oz citizen. (some dude said that make it easy access?...it's not)....

I am a Scot in Oz, and i love it here.

my POINT is that if you plan to live in a country..(whichever one)... MEAN IT.

you go to that country and take it as it is, (sorry to say, religious beliefs as well). if you do not agree......don't go......how simple is that?

  • ok....I have to do this comment in 2 it appears..(so 3 after this)

  • what is a diff between iris, scotish and the great biitain, just a fakin religious war, thats all,in the rotten war,me an my self ,i hate fakin britis arrogancies, so so fak them

  • wow... just hug

  • Ek is lies vir rooi-haired meisies met freckles...en hulle is lief vier my, ook!

  • Een geweldig nummer.

  • even if I couldn't agree with some things Irish have done, you have the prettiest girls i the world, and they drive me crazy enough to like all of you.

  • très belle chanson de Sinead o' Connor !

  • look at your passport?? what a fuckin great argument, stupid little piece of paper envelopes hundreds of years of history? i dont think so, i was born in scotland to an irish family, on my passport it says British but that means sweet FA and no one is goin 2 tell me otherwise

  • Like the name :))

  • likewise mate mon the hoops!

  • scot/irish born in U.S. never seen Home...but who's to say I've no right to..passports..heh..i agree scraps of paper...and for the record..english,irish,italian..insert ethnicity here..all bleed red all can starve all..you get the point right?

  • YOU MISS THE POINT SUNDOWN

  • @kevybhoy1916 a chara! Totally agree.

  • @kevybhoy1916 your dead right man

  • @kevybhoy1916 got to agree with you on that one!!!!!! irish mum and british dad, i'm irish!!! fuck the british!

  • Ofcourse you can be Irish without being born there, Eamon De valera, born in USA, irelands longest serving statesman of spanish and irish parentage, are you gona call him a yank? what about Sean Macstiofan aka John Stephenson, founding member of the provisionals yet born in London, very often cultural and social origins are more important than where you were born, seerid4n you are right, dorsai3328 you are very wrong, emigration is a part of irelands history, know anything about the famine?.....

  • I think you're missing the point. The original Op said he was 100% Irish. Wrong! He IS of Irish descent, which is completely different.

All the rest of this crap just snowballed from there.

  • dorsai3328???????

Shame on you, you can be irish or indeed any nationality by decent as well as birth!!

You seem bitter and twisted to me, everyone just ignore this silly person sad person who musn't have many friends and probably cries themself to sleep at night lol!!!

  • dorsai3328 from the UK, what gives you the right to say this person is not Irish when you live in England, Bugger off you Wanker..

  • THANK YOU!!!! Why do people make a big deal out of little things??? (dorsai3328 for exmple) thank you 5h3llf15h!

  • Well its a bit irritating when a country nutures and gives rise to someone and they give their loyalty to another country.

  • Cook119, You do have a very good point, very true.

  • UK = England?

When you work out how an Irishman can be born and live in the UK, then get back to me (ask your Ma, she might be able to help).

  • Are you all there?? 1# UK is part of Northern Ireland, If the parents are Irish the offspring can be irish or english it up to the offspring. duecitizenship hello! In todays society from your eithic background you could say a number of countries. If you live in America for 2 years you could be American as simple as that. Anyway the comments are over 3 months ago move on?

  • "UK is part of Northern Ireland" - WTF?

"If the parents are Irish then offspring can be Irish or ENGLISH.." - again WTF?

Do you actually realise the shite that you have just posted here?

If you would like me to correct what is wrong with your stupid statements, let me know. Failing that, go ask any 5 year old and they can help you with that.

  • When did Northern Ireland was not part of Britian?? WTF it is part of the UK, Scotland Wales, England and Northern Ireland. Look at any map. Or tell me when did Northern Ireland seperated from the UK the IRA would love to know. 2.) You are decented by your parents nationality and by were you are born or by which country you move to on this planet. WTF that is right. so dorsai3328 I do not understand why you see this as so hard to understand.

  • YOU said the UK was part of Northern Ireland.

Correct statement is Northern Ireland is part of the UK.

You said "...can be Irish or ENGLISH".

Correct statement is "...Irish or BRITISH".

Re-read the original OP's post. He said he was 100% Irish because his grandparents were born there. WRONG. Plain and simple.

Quite clearly you haven't the first idea of what the hell you talking about.

Buy hey, keep posting, we're having a ball laughing at you here. :-)

  • no problem people born in the north of ireland, can get irish passport or british one irish parents in america irish passport. irish we are proud of who we are

  • @260386ify majority gets irish or american passport?

  • John Lennon said it all..."Why the hell are the english there anyway"...never to be heard on the bbc

  • paul McCartney said it all... "give ireland back to the irish"

  • What a beautiful song by a beautiful person..that is why we are all here right?

Lets not attach bad feelings to this song. As an Irishman who has spent time in England and now Canada it is true that peace is the only way in which the world can survive.

Lets not show negativity at a time of unrest up north. Something which i hope will soon pass and those responsible dealt with.

  • I like her better this way...with hiar...

  • wait, fist in my womb?...ok,i wish she hadnt painted that picture...regardless...im in love....wow....hehehe

    Guitarman

  • ok,why have i never noticed how cute she is...wow!!!im 100% Irish but born in Canada....first in our family history....this girl makes me wanna make beautiful little Irish babies...HAHA...a little princess!!!

    Canadian Guitarman

  • Wait...100% Irish, yet born in Canada! How did you work that one out? LOL

  • well, lets see...how hard is it to figure out...my grandparents on both sides were both born in Ireland....theres been no other blood...you seem to think Irish is about the piece of dirt your mother squirted you out on....its about ancient family history and genetics...i was born in Labrador City Canada...by birth im Canadian...but genetically,im still IRISH...i suppose if you were born at the North Pole that would make you a bloody polar bear?..LMAO..or mabey you think im a friggin Eskimo now?

  • Feckin arse about face as usual ya feckwit. Americans, and now I see Canadians too, have it wrong. Being Irish is about where YOU were born. All I hear from Yanks (and now from a Canadian) is how Irish they are because they there Mammas great great grandaddys aunt, came from Ireland.

If YOU were born in Ireland, then you are Irish. If in Canada then you are Canadian.

    TIP: Look on your Passport!

BTW, the whole North Pole, polar bear analogy. Get a feckin grip.

  • boy their really growin them dumb out there arent they?...read my lips...lol...im Canadian of Irish decent...can you get that through your feckin head?...theres no English ancestery...No Scottish.....No Canadian...only Irish...do you need a fuggin map?...an Irish born maggot with a superiority complex...just wat the world needs!!!..HAHAHA...now go finger your arse dry ya wank..LOSER!!!!

    RA,RA,RA..hope a sniper gets ya..

PS:id invite ya to say it to my face, but you cant afford it,so FU!

  • are you really making an arguement that if you immigrate to a different country then you automatically sacrifice your heritage ? your the one who needs to get a fucking grip

  • ignorance is bliss dick

  • Aye, you must be in fuckin heaven!

  • I agree with what your saying. My family came from Cornwall (England). But I know I'm not 100% English. It's true what your saying about him not being 100% Irish. But you approached it in a way that pissed people off.

  • Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated. I have two answers for people who I may have pissed off:

    1) Build a bridge, get over it and wind yer neck in.

    2) If I offended you then I humbly beg your forgiveness.

Pick which ever one suits you...:-P

  • I have read more of you nonsense, and I see you know very little about citizenship laws around the World. I would first read more and try to open your mind a little, I know that is hard for you Irish people who tend not to travel or explore the world. I have a friend who married a Irish guy and his family never travel more then 50 miles away from Dublin I think they thought they would fall off the Earth. Very funny people and strangle ideas??

  • And the moral of your inane little story is?

  • I see that you are putting down some Irish Canadian person now. Lets see his parents are Irish and he is born in Canada. I Canada that is Called DuoCitizenship you are both Irish and Canadian, and that idividual can hold two Passports one from Ireland and one from Canada. Do you understand now, F**K , DuoCitizenship is very common.

  • OK, I see you've just totally ignored the fact that you posted crap further up in this page. Not surprising that you would want to skip over that parcel of shite. :-)

    DuoCitizenship - Dual Nationality

I was born and raised in Ireland. Currently in Australia. If I got an Australian passport, attained citizenship, I would be an Australian CITIZEN. This is NOT the same as being Australian.

    Keep it coming feckwit.....LOL

  • If you have a Australian passport your Australian, If you also have a Irish one at the same time your both and yes because your parents are Irish or French or what ever you could be that to.

  • Look, there's a world of difference between being Irish (or whatever nationality) by birth and obtaining that nationality by meeting various criteria later in life or because some parent/grandparent was born there.

If you really can't see that then you truly are as thick as your comments make out.

Are you really that thick? Surely not.

  • So some Black African Family in Dublin is more Irish then a red headed Irish Protestian/Catholic family in Nova Scotia Canada that speaks Galic and has that funny accent, complain all the time, drinks to much bushmills and stout and can't hold down a job. You are telling them they aren't Irish, Gooood luck I will see you in the hospital. I would love to see you tell them that, God that would be funny. And the Black guy is Irish I see.

  • Colour of skin/hair, religion, what they drink, etc...has feck all to do with it.

Once again, for those in the back row, those in Canada etc...

The African family, if born in Ireland, would be Irish and of African descent.

The Protestian (whatever the feck that word means LOL) family, if born in Canada, would be CANADIAN and of Irish descent.

    Anything else you need explaining?

  • I'm glad that you are findly getting it.

  • Feckwit. I've just disagreed with what you been saying all along, now you think I am am agreeing with you? PSML.

    You are fecking HILARIOUS.

  • PMSL you have Irish humour ye cunt ye!!

  • we shipped across the wave to teach them it ended different for us and for them past bonds or allegiance an English (British) speaking niece among the Steinbeck okies trying to understand a family driven from their home during the civil war (in Eire and in Georgia) spins the mind closer to truth
  • So what's living in England got to do with anything? Somebody has to. This is such a lovely song - one of her best - big lump every time I hear it. And yes I'm an irishwoman living in England too so that probably makes me a hypocrite, so something in common with the great Sinead. Fine woman, fine song, fine singer (Sinead I mean).

  • scouser inbred cunt of a hun y did u search for this if u dont lik it u freak

  • fuck you, scouse bastard go rob ya mates house

  • I see that this song some how elicits hostility. Maybe, this is because it triggers people that suffer post-traumatic stress - or something else.

How many of you have pushed away someone who loved you?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • tiocfaidh ar la

  • @joeybhoy67 so was i and my passport says irish to which im so proud

  • that is not called for .... name calling is low so fuck off.

I feel that telling you what to do is less crude.

  • up the ra x

  • she has a great voice

  • i love her

  • Shame on you sevy43. this is not about the sas.

This is a very old song sung by a very talented singer

  • hahahahahahahaha

  • Hi,Sinead! A good man and friend,Black Falasha Jewish Palestinian Christian stateless person, told me that when he was in a Spanish prison he had your poster on his cell wall. You were his ideal girlfriend! His name is Ben. He went to Ghana to join the army and get a passport.I hope he is OK! I hope you are, too! God Bless!

  • god bless you you too

  • sevy43 is a scum bag!! people like him are the reason that dissident republicans are reforming!

  • spelndida, come sempre! Viva Sinéad e Viva l'Irlanda!!! ps: see The wind that shakes the barley, there's a great song sung by her too, "Oro sé do bheatha 'bhaile", it's a rebel song of 1500 rearranged by Sinéad, one of her best songs in my opinion, it's in "Séan-nos nua" cd.

  • sinead is a beautiful singer the voice of an angel, and she speaks up for the exploited people

  • I love Sinead.

And you irish or brit haters should chill.

    We are all the same.

  • Sevy43, If only closed minds came with closed mouths. Bigot !

  • I've always thought she got the name of this song from when Bono of U2 used to preface the song Sunday Bloody Sunday by saying "This is Not a rebel song".

  • Shes always got a voice....awesome and beautiful....and no offense meant...she looks grand with hair!!!

  • This is a beautiful song.

  • Beautiful song, very powerful.

  • Maybe she personally believes that Ireland isnt really sorry for all the republican attrocities? Such a beautiful song. Its true everything she says. The irish are always made to feel bad about our violent past but who was really oppressing us. I dont see the brisish government apologising like they have to balck people for slavery. We were slaves too. x

  • true what ya say

  • Tá cinnte, for defo.

  • I wonder why she always left out the last "I do" on live performances?

  • Sigh. I just LOVE this 1997 Sinead, touring after the release of Gospel Oak with the musicians from Ghostland and the singers from Screaming Orphans. Alas, Sinead ... she just kills me. Truly.

  • I have never heard this song before now. It is so beautiful and Sinead is also.

  • great great song... and that is the most wacked out cello i have ever seen.. what is that the Jackson randy rhodes signature cello model?

  • actually it's just an electric cello, wacky but effective...

  • Shes so beautiful shaved head. More stunning

  • je propose la version en couleur de cette vidéo sur mon espace..

  • she is so beutiful with hair to match a beutiful voice

  • Thanks again Cerridwen :)

  • yea fuc k the english ever walk over us up the irish

  • Another reason to love the one and only Sinead-a song that sears your heart, and a physical presence that is so charasmatic that it's off the charts.

  • Thank you, a great video, song and voice,God Bless, Sinead. And Thank you.'Cerridwen'for posting it.

  • She's beautiful WITHOUT hair !

  • true, she's so beautiful with hair.

  • great video, great voice and great sinead with hair!!
