So don't spout this crap about his "compassion and sympathy". This is just like Shrub who wouldn't spend the $200m the Army Corps of Engineers wanted to beef up the levees protecting New Orleans before Katrina.

@palatiality That is such an incredibly fucking stupid thing to get at. You manage to bash republicans over a widespread wildfire that was caused by the worst drought in Texas since the 50's.
Holy fuck it is a WALL OF FIRE AND SMOKE. The govt needs choppers now, National guard should have BEEN dispatched 2 fuckin days ago already. sand that shit back, like dumping tons of water and sand on a volcano, the fire is 16miles long.
Fuckin US CONGRESS IS USELESS. If you asshole politicians keep fuckin yourself in the ass and stand around a little longer, you wont be able to contain that fuckin WALL OF FIRE, if the fire runs its course, big problems for TX comin.
Check out my vid on how red tape keep the planes on the ground and my friend was told not to help but later fought the fires for 2 days. You just have to hear it..
I love how Rick Perry cut funding for fire departments across Texas and then this happened. Then he went crying to FEMA (this is a SESSESSIONIST going to the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT with hat-in-hand) for help because now Texas is unable to put out its own fires. Now he's using taxpayer dollars from all states as a piggy bank to bank roll a failure he caused.
It's not a 'neat' youtube moment, it's not impressive as you said a couple of times. Right where you were my dear friends lost two homes and two dogs. I know it's not for you to have known, but It wasn't 'neat' or 'impressive. Peoples lives were destroyed.
Can someone please make an awesome "texas wildfire tribute" montoge / video with Pat green "nightmare as the song??? it would be so good... for all the people living through this nightmare...just like in the song :) thanks..if you do please let me know!!! give me a lil cred for the idea..jk
There have been a few responses to comments that I have made on this video. I must say there are some pretty HEARTLESS, IGNORANT, STUPID ASS PEOPLE that leave messages on here. I believe that GOD is in control of all that goes on in our lives daily. We are ALL , no matter what religion ,ethnic background, or beliefs we have, GOING THROUGH A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY IN TEXAS AND NEED TO STAND AS 1. UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. WE SHALL OVERCOME AND REBUILD WHAT GOD LOVES ON HIS LAND. AMEN
@brandym38 So, are you saying that God caused the drought, and the fires? If that's the way it is then aren't you thwarting Gods will by trying to put those fires out?
@Rrrowlf you know your photo with them devil ass horn explains alot about your character. I am saying that everything that happens GOD has a plan for. Are you questioning my belief in the LORD or do I need to question yours. The fact of the matter is FAMILIES are left without answers and without homes. All over the place. GOD BLESS THESE FAMILIES AND MAY THEY FIND COMFORT IN KNOWING GOD IS REAL AND HE WILL HEAL THERE BROKEN SPIRITS AND HEARTS.
@Pangolinx1 I am not in to politics. This is not a time to bash Governor Perry for calling on the Federal Govt. I believe that he is of higher power than BOTH you and I. He is only doing what he sees fit for the wildfire and families that have either LOST everything they had or suffered great damage to what they have. I just want Families to know that all we be taken care of. I'm not on here to battle simple minded people that are heartless. EVERYONE NEEDS A HAND SOMETIME IN LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
@brandym38 Au contraire. This is EXACTLY the time to bash Governor Perry and Texas voters who elected him to high office. Because Perry is of the low-minded and very public opinion that people who have troubles in life should remain homeless where there are empty homes, starve where food is abundant, and go without medical care or education where educated people are unemployed. I don't see why the Feds. should help Texas when Texas refuses to help itself. Taste of your own medicine.

@brandym38 Does the "spirit of the lord" force you to put a death lock on the caps key or is that personal preference? Just wondering.
You'd think maybe God's message to Texas is maybe to be a little kinder to those less fortunate than you? I mean, y'all have tried kicking the poor around like a soccer ball and that seems to have resulted in the "no rain" thing.
@Pangolinx1 actually that no rain thing is called a drought, but you wouldn't know anything about that complicated subject called weather now would you. now go along and keep ranting on about how unfortunate the poor are...
@Pangolinx1 I can't tell you how all the people in TEXAS are. That is not my concern at all. People are always going to be people. Some good some bad but, right now is not something that anyone should have to be facing alone. No matter where you go there are going to ignorant people. I come from the poor and I been kicked around myself but I bounce back. We are going through a tragedy right now and we have to bond together for comfort and support. Rain will come we texans know to pray
@Pangolinx1 I just don't get it. WHY are you people being like this? There's people's lives involved in this, and the half of the comments here all like "you saw it coming!". What kind of help is that? This is american people and they have the right to be SAFE as you do, it doesn't metter where they live at!. Being here in Moscow i'm worried about this people. There nearby you don't give a fuck, and even say that they deserve it? I was in Tx las summer, and people there were SO nice and friendly
@kennymck0rmick_Rural homes should have a fire-proof, "defensible space" around their homes. With Texas experiencing a drought y'all shouldn't cut funding for volunteer fire fighting. Texas probably could use a few thousand more professional fire fighters but their funding was cut also. The idiots that cut funding are the Republicans that run Texas politics. The head idiot thinks he should run the nation. The last idiot Texas sent to D.C. ruined the whole nation. Call it a grudge.
@Pangolinx1 apparently what the houses have is NOT enough, and you can not blame the texans for the weather. This is totally not their fault! And it has nothing to do with politics either! Of course, the governor should not cut the firefighter budget - but maybe the county had other needs that he tried to solve while the firefighters were not needed. This is a mistake, that should NOT be blaming the people. Because i'm sure that Perry's house is fine. But 1400 houses are GONE. Not time for blame
@kennymck0rmick_ What? You've got no homeless people in Texas? Nope. Some bastard walks past them and says "get a job." Well the shoes on the other foot now isn't it. A bunch of well-off bastards cut the firefighting budget and when the fire comes go begging for a handout.
There was plenty of time for blame when the other guy was homeless wasn't there. Well, it looks like GAWD has made his judgement on Texas. Inhospitality was the sin of Sodom for which it burned. It's Texas burning now.
Great footage! SO newsworthy.. you totally should've auctioned it to news outlets on Bideo. At this point though the news will prob just take it off here and make tens of thousands of dollars in ad rev from it.. yet you're the one who risked life and limb to catch an amazing video.. where's YOUR cut?!?!
Driving toward a major wildland fire? Putting yourself in harms' way to go SIGHTSEEING? Impeding firefighters and cops trying to save lives, trying to protect livestock and property, INCLUDING MINE, just to shoot a video clip is just plain selfish and stupid...
@mcbrewski78957 I agree. The best part is where she is starting to get afraid saying they need to get out of there. 0:27 Why has the traffic stopped? It couldn't be because of that black fucking cloud, could it? There is no need to put yourself in harms way just for a damn YouTube video!
My heart gos out to you. Bastrop was my home town. My Grabdpa drove bus there my great Aunts live or lived there it was my home for so long growing up on and off. Every other weekend I was there and every summer. I hope everyone is ok. I remember when the only movie place burnt down that was in town ha right across from the fire depo. I didn't see much of the town after it became a big place all modern but for a big part of me it was home. How did the state park do? Is it still there?
if you like cali so much move your happy ass back there already, People have lost evething and all you can do is compare???? Get the hell back where you came from!!! God bless the people who have lost and for those who gripe and compare.... I hope yo get lost in the hell you create!!!!
@LilMenace68 Didn't you hear, he retired a few years back. He's over at the Care4Bears Retirement Home where he can eat honey and play salmon toss all day long.
Sounds like tempers are hotter than the fire. Pray folks. You don't know what it's like till you lose your home, possessions, pets and memories. Whatever state in the USA we are in, we are Americans. And as such, we need to be there for each other.
The lady in this video obviously does not take stress well. She'd help the whole situation by not freaking out and taking it as it goes. The fire isn't going to run at her and eat her poodle.
@quack840 (a) You're 14, and don't ave a clue what you're seeing or talking about. (b) So Cal doesn't get these "all year round" (c) don't bother replying otherwise your Youtube name will be changed from Quack to Fart to reflect the quality of your posts. You've already ruined some of your posting history so stop now while you have a chance.
@jpeditor (A) im 15 and i live in so cal and this is a bull shit fire if you know anything bout fires. (b) so cal gets them alot more than texas (at least in populated areas) (c) i reply to what i want and rofl fart oh plz dont troll me to hard now you might make me cry. and i dont give a fuck about posting history? lol get a life and stop replying to a "14 year old kid" waisting your life if your so much older.
@quack840 well in texas we dont get to many big fires going. how the hell can you say big deal. oh im from cali big deal my ass all of the houses around there are gone. so many people are with out homes and personal affects. You are an ass who should get what you deserve one day i live around where the fire is and i have lived here most of my life its not just big deal you dumb shit.
@nickolaslageman dont raise your blood pressure to high now wouldnt want you, (probabally 30+ no job man that cant supply for his family) to pass out on your keyboard right now
@quack840 your maturity level is low little man. i do have a job but my family is not with me they are in other parts of the country. im 21 to fucking correct your sorry little bitch ass. you are not even old enough to vote. or work so where the hell did you grow up a fucking pig farm. you sorry pice of shit. have a nice night or what ever it is in fagot land.
@nickolaslageman Maybe Texas could learn a little about what a "defensible space" means in fire terminology and do something to protect the homes that haven't already burned.
@MrRonronr if you call that a drought, extremely minuscule compared to the drought in Texas. and there are over 60 wildfires burning right now which have already scorched an area bigger than the size of connecticut.
@AdverbAdjective Geography fail. Ever hear of Death Valley or Edwards Air Force base where the space shuttle used to land. Do the words Mojave or Joshua tree mean anything to you? We have places in California where it almost never rains.
In 2008 in California we had 2,000 fires burning in a single day. in Oakland CA. in 1991 a fire burned "3,354 single-family dwellings and 437 apartment and condominium units"(wiki) in a single day. Don't talk to us about fire; y'all are amateurs.
@Pangolinx1 reality fail. when's the last time there was a wildfire in the desert? guess what we have deserts here to. now how about doing a little research and look at the US drought monitor for august 2011. you'll see all of Texas in maroon while only a tiny spec of california in yellow. more than 3.6 million acres have been burned by wildfires since November. so guess again.
@AdverbAdjective I've got to admit your drought is worse than I've ever seen where I've lived. And as far as I can tell that 3.6 million acres burned beats anything we've had in California as far as acreage burned. Of course, we get kind of fanatical about funding our fire crews and don't cut their budgets during a drought. We also have a state agency solely dedicated to fighting rural wildfires.
So congratulations. You win the charred foundation award. FWIW.
@quack840 this wasn't fake douchebag. Bastrop is gone. I saw the smoke in the sky. leave "so cal" & come over to texas if you need proof, well thats if you even make it alive.
TURN AROUND NOW! THAT FIRE IS WAY TOO CLOSE!!!! EVERYONE KNOWS FIRE IS UNCONTROLLABLE AND CAN ATTACK CARS FROM OVER 200 FEET AWAY! GETTING AS CLOSE AS YOU WERE IS SUPER RISKY! YOU ARE BRAVE! now seriously shut ur bitch up shes annoying
7 billion billion living on top of ever changing planet and people bug out when shit like this happens. Stuff like this has always happened except now you have the internet to see it. DOOM AND GLOOM.
I'm afraid it's going to get far worse before its over with. I live on the northwest side of Houston. And we have alot of pine trees that are dying or dead. And lots of dead grass and brush around the area. It would not take much for fires to be set off in this area. Well right now in Texas that is not saying anything.
You guys turned around right around on the K.C. Drive exit by my old house (something that I will always remember). I wonder if my old house has been burned down along with my adopted sisters house on Kelley Road.
@ChibiChibiKai the turn around was about 1/2 a block from where there was fire on the highway. I'm not sure which direction it spread from there but the fire/winds were heading southeast (i think)
@blurped1952 A little ways up that road was a gas station, when you got this footage was the gas station already blown up (I'm not sure if you are familiar with Hwy 21, but I thought I'd ask)? I'm just really worried about these homes since the Bastrop County of Emergency Management released a map over the Circle D-KC Estates, that area in the video, and it is shaded in red, so I am wondering if those houses are completely gone in that area...

When I drove into town yesterday, I could see all the way across austin to the east where this inferno was taking place. I live in dripping springs and just sold my land in cedar creek. There are people on craigslist that are offering free boarding for farm animals. My heart goes out to folks over there, it's unbelievable. We finaly get some relief in temperatures and wind driven hell comes with it. I hope veryone stays safe east of 35. Goodluck.

Brilliant.

Rrrowlf 5 months ago
@Rrrowlf you know your photo with them devil ass horn explains alot about your character. I am saying that everything that happens GOD has a plan for. Are you questioning my belief in the LORD or do I need to question yours. The fact of the matter is FAMILIES are left without answers and without homes. All over the place. GOD BLESS THESE FAMILIES AND MAY THEY FIND COMFORT IN KNOWING GOD IS REAL AND HE WILL HEAL THERE BROKEN SPIRITS AND HEARTS.
brandym38 5 months ago
@brandym38 Yeah, "GOD BLESS THESE FAMILIES" but governor Perry is calling on the Federal Govt. to give you a handout just in case GOD defaults.
Pangolinx1 5 months ago
@Pangolinx1 I am not in to politics. This is not a time to bash Governor Perry for calling on the Federal Govt. I believe that he is of higher power than BOTH you and I. He is only doing what he sees fit for the wildfire and families that have either LOST everything they had or suffered great damage to what they have. I just want Families to know that all we be taken care of. I'm not on here to battle simple minded people that are heartless. EVERYONE NEEDS A HAND SOMETIME IN LIFE!!!!!!!!!!
brandym38 5 months ago

Pangolinx1 5 months ago
@Pangolinx1 actually that no rain thing is called a drought, but you wouldn't know anything about that complicated subject called weather now would you. now go along and keep ranting on about how unfortunate the poor are...
AdverbAdjective 5 months ago
@Pangolinx1 I can't tell you how all the people in TEXAS are. That is not my concern at all. People are always going to be people. Some good some bad but, right now is not something that anyone should have to be facing alone. No matter where you go there are going to ignorant people. I come from the poor and I been kicked around myself but I bounce back. We are going through a tragedy right now and we have to bond together for comfort and support. Rain will come we texans know to pray
brandym38 5 months ago
@Pangolinx1 I just don't get it. WHY are you people being like this? There's people's lives involved in this, and the half of the comments here all like "you saw it coming!". What kind of help is that? This is american people and they have the right to be SAFE as you do, it doesn't metter where they live at!. Being here in Moscow i'm worried about this people. There nearby you don't give a fuck, and even say that they deserve it? I was in Tx las summer, and people there were SO nice and friendly
kennymck0rmick 5 months ago
@kennymck0rmick_Rural homes should have a fire-proof, "defensible space" around their homes. With Texas experiencing a drought y'all shouldn't cut funding for volunteer fire fighting. Texas probably could use a few thousand more professional fire fighters but their funding was cut also. The idiots that cut funding are the Republicans that run Texas politics. The head idiot thinks he should run the nation. The last idiot Texas sent to D.C. ruined the whole nation. Call it a grudge.
Pangolinx1 5 months ago 2
@Pangolinx1 apparently what the houses have is NOT enough, and you can not blame the texans for the weather. This is totally not their fault! And it has nothing to do with politics either! Of course, the governor should not cut the firefighter budget - but maybe the county had other needs that he tried to solve while the firefighters were not needed. This is a mistake, that should NOT be blaming the people. Because i'm sure that Perry's house is fine. But 1400 houses are GONE. Not time for blame
kennymck0rmick 5 months ago
@kennymck0rmick_ What? You've got no homeless people in Texas? Nope. Some bastard walks past them and says "get a job." Well the shoes on the other foot now isn't it. A bunch of well-off bastards cut the firefighting budget and when the fire comes go begging for a handout.
There was plenty of time for blame when the other guy was homeless wasn't there. Well, it looks like GAWD has made his judgement on Texas. Inhospitality was the sin of Sodom for which it burned. It's Texas burning now.
Pangolinx1 5 months ago

AdverbAdjective 5 months ago
@AdverbAdjective It doesn't? I am pretty sre living in soutern Cali life is one big drought and wildfires are a daily event...
MrRonronr 5 months ago
@MrRonronr Shh, don't tell him it rains three months of the year, maybe, and burns 9 months.
Pangolinx1 5 months ago
@MrRonronr if you call that a drought, extremely minuscule compared to the drought in Texas. and there are over 60 wildfires burning right now which have already scorched an area bigger than the size of connecticut.
AdverbAdjective 5 months ago
@AdverbAdjective Geography fail. Ever hear of Death Valley or Edwards Air Force base where the space shuttle used to land. Do the words Mojave or Joshua tree mean anything to you? We have places in California where it almost never rains.
In 2008 in California we had 2,000 fires burning in a single day. in Oakland CA. in 1991 a fire burned "3,354 single-family dwellings and 437 apartment and condominium units"(wiki) in a single day. Don't talk to us about fire; y'all are amateurs.
Pangolinx1 5 months ago
@Pangolinx1 reality fail. when's the last time there was a wildfire in the desert? guess what we have deserts here to. now how about doing a little research and look at the US drought monitor for august 2011. you'll see all of Texas in maroon while only a tiny spec of california in yellow. more than 3.6 million acres have been burned by wildfires since November. so guess again.
AdverbAdjective 5 months ago
@AdverbAdjective I've got to admit your drought is worse than I've ever seen where I've lived. And as far as I can tell that 3.6 million acres burned beats anything we've had in California as far as acreage burned. Of course, we get kind of fanatical about funding our fire crews and don't cut their budgets during a drought. We also have a state agency solely dedicated to fighting rural wildfires.
So congratulations. You win the charred foundation award. FWIW.

I'm afraid it's going to get far worse before its over with. I live on the northwest side of Houston. And we have alot of pine trees that are dying or dead. And lots of dead grass and brush around the area. It would not take much for fires to be set off in this area. Well right now in Texas that is not saying anything.
