The problem with games like this is that the people to make the game have imaginations that are greater than Wat technology allows. The game looks cool and probity a lot of fun (from what I have seen) but their will always be limitations.

have you ever heard of eve online? its about as old as WoW and its a space mmorpg, and its a hell of alot better than this game from the looks of it... and you can do a hell of alot more.

Provided they work out the bugs in the game STO will be better.

Atleast you can get somewhere by playing...Eve was such a major turn off; having to wait ridicolous amounts of time just to train to higher skills.

only if you didnt skill train properly and pick appropriate paths to train. That was the game itself, Gave you infinite choices, but its up to you to pick the right ones.. You can train them all, but it takes forever. Even on EVE you have to specialize, but you get the option from everything as the game progresses... rather than from a specific character from the start, and getting the path picked for you. Just so you know in 2 days on eve, can you train a perfect tackler frigate for corps.

yeah i played it for a while... and it was a great game! .. well i played star trek beta now.. and it definitly isn't my game..

eve was offcourse different but still nice to play.. and offcourse black prophacy i´m still waiting to get that one! :D

Never tried / played World of Warcraft, but I can sure you all - it's much more fun. And you can do much more in WoW.

I just hope they do this right. It looks awesome and has the potential to be massive, even more so than WOW. Mainly due to the huge popularity of star trek in general. As huge star trek fan i really hope this game does good. From the looks of these previews iv been see'ing it doesnt look that great tho and needs alot of work Klingon Academy looks more fluid when it comes to the space combat.

I also highely doubt star wars or star trek will ever surpase WOW.. People have been saying that for years now about other game it hasnt happend and i dont think ever will. The only way WOW is going down is if they screw up the game themselves.

In regards to WoW, only reason it's famous is because of large amounts of endorsements (South Park, Comic-Con, etc). Naturally, curiousity + boredom = constant MMO addiction. I played WoW for about 10 minutes on both trial and full accounts, and it was SO BORING. I just love the ships from ST, so that's my bag.

Plus, if ST is cheaper, it'll sell.
