I'm kind of falling in love with the D10. It's a perfect twin to the D50, which was used by Jarre on countless productions (Magnetic Fields, Rendez-Vous) and has some amazing sounds built-in. And the best part is that it's just dirt cheap.
BTW, the use of the strings (very Eminent-310-like) make it very Equinoxe, but the use of the arpeggios and the prominent drum track is more Magnetic Fields (part 2).
@AttilaSVK I am not kidding you but after 15 seconds I have detected JMJ influence and Magnetic Fields flavor. I have enjoyed your performance, thanks for the upload.
@rossjlennox That was for adjusting the modulation amount when the swith was engaged. When I got it, I rewired it to the original modulation controller, but when the switch was engaged, the modulation was always on maximum - it was a great way to control the simulated leslie speed on the A5000)
Attila! Do you know, Zoltán Maksa's (hungarian humorist if you don't know him) sythesizer albums? The CO2 and the Vulcan? If not, try to get them. You'll like it.
Otherwise this song is nice, kind of tribute of Jean Michael Jarre at the end, as I heard.
The D-10 is used here only as a MIDI keyboard to trigger the A5000's and Matix-1000's sounds and anyway that's the title of the song, not the definition of my gear.
No. Actually, the sound is completely different and the melody also. But I admit, that melody on the end is from Equinoxe 4, but 5 semitones lower and the end is different.
Thank you! Originally, the second theme was shorter, but I've noticed that the Equinoxe IV lead fits there with smaller changes, so I've decided to play that way.
The equal part numbers in Synth Paradise and Equinoxe are fully accidental.
The previous owner was a carpenter, so he made the wooden sides of the synth. Also, all LEDs except for the bi-coloured were changed to blue ones. I also built a green LED to the bender wheel, and added a knob and a button (it can be barely seen). When the button is on, I can adjust the modulation from the knob, and when it's off, the modulation can be controlled regularly. I often play some organ sounds on my sampler, so I can switch the leslie speed in a simple way.
man, loose those dodgy Phil Collins Drum fills.

sounds a bit like the BBC International announcements backing track, lol

is the lead sound actually coming from the D-10, or is is it from the rack?
Nismology5 3 years ago
There are no sounds used from the D-10, everything is coming from the A5000, except for the pad.

Why Magnetic Fields? I know the reason of being "equinoxish", I wrote that earlier in the comments...

It sounds like Magnetic Fields to me almost exactly the same lead line. But still sounds good :)

Sounds good.Did you modify the look of your D-10?.I didn't know they were woody on the side.
chinkogakusaizo 3 years ago
Yes, it's been modded. The previous owner added wooden side panels and blue LEDs.

@AttilaSVK Looks like they added an extra knob above the pitch bend stick too...

Great one, very stereotipically 80's or early 90's! I'm going to buy a D-10, do you have anything to say about it?

Szia Szilvi! Persze, hogy ismerem Zoli albumait, a CO2 meg is van, és hallgatom is néha. Sőt, van egy JV-35öm is, mint neki... :)
A Jarre-os tisztelgés okát pedig megtalálod néhány válasszal lejjebb.

I'd hardly call a D-10 synth paradise, more like something to throw of a cliff at high tide...

D-10 is great for 80s music and not only.
Just some people don't know how to program it ;)
Yes, the factory presets suck.

Can you say "Equinoxe IV"... Sounds good, though for a JMJ influenced track.
Nice wood panels on the D-10...

Very good indeed!
And I see you have some kind of mod applyed on your D-10. What's the purpose of this additional knob above the pitchbender ?

This is to awsome to be true!!
FINALLY someone plays quality 80´s pop WITH a good 80´s drumsound!
everytime peoples play 80´s music, they have this boring normal drumsound, wether it´s heavy metal or synth pop.
Great song, really! Can i download it from somewhere? It would be a great tune for my mp3 player.
