I can't believe you think a Rottweiler is not a guard dog simply because it is a working breed. German Shepherd dogs make some of the best military / police dogs and are regarded as ONE OF THE best guard dogs you can get in a family environment. Yet they are SHEPHERDS. Bred for FARM WORK AND HERDING. Guard dogs PROTECT YOU. If you don't believe a Rottweiler will PROTECT his/her owner then you really need to do some research.
You only put the puppy in the crate when you are sleeping or when you plan on leaving the house in order to avoid accidents. You leave him out when you are home. If he piddles then you stop what you are doing and correct the situation IMMEDIATELY. You certainly don't get a medium to large size guard dog breed used to a crate.
@Hendrik1293 Rottweilers are NOT guard dogs. They are a herding breed. Their working animals. You want a guard dog, get a chihuahua. They'll alert you the second someone is near. Rottweilers are far more trusting. Common misconception. Just because he's a big dog doesn't mean he's a bouncer.
@666rogue666 you have guard dog and watch dog mixed up dude. a chihuahua wont stop an intruder. a guard dog is one that will guard its territory/owner, by force. trust me a rottweiler will guard by force instinctively. yes it is a herding dog i know. just think about it. what do most people get a rottweiler for other than show? guard dog. we have workers for herding now. and we have vehicles/tractors to pull carts. so its not used for working anymore.
@666rogue666 go look at my presa thats a guard dog. they are very protective of their people.. but you have to be dominate over them or they will think they are the boss... as long as your dominate they are VERY protective.. my apt maintnance almost got fuckd up cuz my dog didnt know who he was.
@mywingsareyours.. In a training there are things that u can use to awrd the dog and so that he will understand and get used to it. Cage tarining is not just locking the puppy in and thenwatching him cry. CUNTS like you can not udnerstand sucha simple thing obviously, ok DUMBASS?
My rottie didn't cry at all when she moved in with me....BUT every dog is diffrent, has it's own personality. The first day my dog was hanging in my curtains andr chewing on everything. She broke MY house almost..
This is absolutely normal when you have a new puppy. It's has to be confined until it is housebroken. As sad as the dogs cries are you have to ignore them. The dog will settle down in a few days. It's when you spoil the dog by taking it out of the crate every time it cries is when you're gonna create problems. This is not cruel at all, this is how it should be done.
@mvolley72... why on the first day he is kept in the cage and with no shame u listen to him/her crying and film it. maybe u r a STUPID CUNT who doesnt deserve having a pet...YOU should get into that fucking cage and see what it feels like and stay in it forever. ASSHOLE!
OMg my rotweiler did the same thing and i ahve the same cage as you after he got tired of screamming he would take a sip lay down and start screaming again
Hey I really wanna Rottweiler , but I haven't ever had a dog before, I'm aware that you have to be dominant from the start and I'm ready to be so...a rottie as a first dog??
@KLP2566 Treat them like your friend, be nice to them, love them, let them sleep in your bedroom, when they are young in a cage so they here you sleep otherwise they will start making noises, go to puppy class with them and in general take them with you as much as you can. They will become your best friend. they are very nice and gentle dogs if you train them well, NEVER hit them, if they do something wrong, tell them off and ignore them. Go to school with them, don't get one for the image
@KLP2566 i bought my rotty about 5 weeks ago now, he was about 14 weeks old when we bought him. very hard work to begin with e.g. toilet training and getting him to sleep at night but after about 3 or 4 weeks of him settling in, he is lovely, goes to toilet on command, knows basics e.g. sit, paw, high five.. the best decision i've ever made, i've never been happier. i would really recommend getting a rotty, everyone thinks they're vicious and angry but they're really so loving and affectionate.
@TheSarasmiles12345 your pup wasnt tired enough and he kept crying because you came to his aid, been 2 weeks since i got mine and he sleeps through the night and loves his crate cuz i introduced him to it the right way
