So if I download gp2x pc emulator..will I play many roms of different consoles ?...instead of downloading nes, mame sega emulators ?..appreciate any answers
yeah, it's a pretty bad ass system for the price. you just drop games onto it and it pretty much just works. If you can read instructions on what directory to copy a file to, you can get a setup running real fast.
be sure to check out the pandora though. it will cost 2x as much but will be much better at emulating the higher end systems like ps1, n64, etc.
Well, the GP2X WIZ does have alot more power and RAM than the GP2X. I've looked at the Pandora and I might get one of those aswell, but they're alot harder to get hold of than the GP2X.
street fighter 2 seemed to be runing asuper slow, hopefully we'll be able to play better games than that, without the slowdown, wow that was BAD, oh well
This was version 2.3 of the MAME port by "Franxis". Version 3.x is significantly faster with samples support and better sound. I'll see if I can find videos of that.
You can hook it up via USB and write to either your standard SD card or built in 64mb nand/flash memory. It's supposed to be upgraded to 512mb built-in later. But SD prices are dropping so much, you can get a 2gb or 4gb for cheap these days.

@cosmicgate07 The gp2x is a handheld retro gaming console. You install emulators on it like you would a PC.

Whoo! 1985!! The old games are still the best. You people may need more time to admit this truth, but I understand.

So how did you make such a nice video? Did you use TV-out or something?

Here's a video of the gp2x plugged straight into a TV and receiver. CRT is how MAME is supposed to be played!
