Look at them APU units man they are nasty. They not fit to get inside them--you never get your clothes clean again. I never seen anything this nasty not even a coal fired steam engine. I think I can help you with this, we got a lot of enviro-weenies here stateside, and maybe i can send you some. Oxygen starvation in the tunnel causes the engines to smoke alot. I read an article from the US about the problems the freight trains have in some of the long tunnels. I hope the driver doesn't get asphyxiated from the fumes..

My understanding is that the Russians liked some WWII vintage 6-axle ALCO RS-1 locos so much that they declared themselves to be licensees. Maybe they've gone on from 539s to duplicating 251s. They sure do smoke like some old ALCOs, and the exhausts look like 539 turbo discharge.

Now, if they'll work on injector limiting and the turbos, maybe they can improve fuel and _engine_ consumption.

The overal quantity of all 2ТЭ10 modifications were produced in the number like 8000+. But most of them already didnt work due to their age (first locos of ТЭ10 shipped in 1960).
