  • love these guys. Hard to find these 2 songs on cd though, thanks for putting this up.

  • They sound so much like the Everly Brothers. Well don'e fellas

  • I have a "SIMPLE" message for the people who "Don't Like" Don't watch them

  • My first time hearin these guys, what a great sound

you really cant dislike this cover.

    great post

    i enjoyed it.

  • Everlys look like drunk

  • Have only just discovered Indo Rock in the last 12 months or so and...boy...I just can't get enough of it. I doubt if many people in Australia will have heard of Andy Tielman, Johnny Lion and the other Indo Rock Artists. I would be interested to know. However, everyone enjoy..enjoy...enjoy as much as me.

  • They are Moluccans ( perhaps Ambonese ) I think ... are they still alive now ?

  • @TheHawaiianDragon

No, they are not Moluccans or Ambonese, they are Eurasians(Indo Europeans or Dutch Indonesians)

2 brothers, one of them died in 2000.

  • @Londo271 : So actually were they born in the Netherlands ? Or in Indonesia ? Perhaps if they were born in the Netherlands they still have Moluccan blood ? Many Molluccans are good at singing ... .

  • @TheHawaiianDragon Yes,but not only the Molluccans can perform or sing, also the Dutch-Indonesians(Eurasians) like Sandra Reemer, Anneke Gronloh,Tielman, etc.I don't know about Molluccan blood.I do know they were born in Jakarta(Batavia) during the WW2, and are of mixed blood: Eurasians. The Eurasians or Dutch-Indonesians have European/Dutch and Indonesian blood. Usually the Indonesian blood is Javanese but not always it can also be Molluccan,Menadonese,Sumatrese,Chinese or a mix.

  • Boy, never heard of these guys before! Not bad!

  • Thanks for sharing this video.

    Eric - Studio ChinChan

  • This is nice.

  • They don't look to old in those photos. If they formed in 1949,they must be about the same age as Don and Phil.

  • Its lovely to hear the Blue Diamonds again after all these yreas , with their unique sound. Bings back so many memories.., so thank you for posting this one.i

  • you're welcome! that's what it's all about, bringing back the music and the memories =)

  • aye its a cover, good, but straight copy of everlies(don and phil) I am trying to get rid of them once is enough

  • I was pretty sure Cathy's Clown was by The Everly Brothers . Is this a cover of it or did you mean Everly Brothers. /// :\

  • Yes, this is a cover. the Blue Diamonds covered several of their songs.

  • Thanks for the answer most people ignore me :( babye

  • wow...this great. Thanks for posting this.

  • you're welcome!

  • I wonder if they did this phonetically or they really knew English.

  • That's a very good question. I know they spoke Dutch and Indonesian. They also sang a lot of songs in German and English. They have fairly good pronunciation. My guess is they knew how to speak at least a little English, too.

  • They sang severals songs in spanish too...One of them, got married with a mexican singer: Leda Moreno.

  • it is heavily accented,e,e,"kat eez cloone"but inderstandable.

  • It's interesting that with the very minimal accent on the rest of the lyrics they mispronounced that key line so badly.

  • @Marianvalkyrien LOL > SUNG WITH THAT FAMOUS HARSH DUTCH ACCENT,

I'VE GOT THE SAME PROBLEM, EVEN AFTER LIVING FOR 30 YRS IN THE GOOD OLD US OF A...(60's Dutch / Indo-pop )[ Indo stands for Dutch Indonesian, of mixed race ]

There are only 2 kinds of Music, Rock & Roll !

Erik Kucera Tielman a.k.a. Ricky Teal, Florida.

  • Never heard of this group but they sound great

eat your heartout Everly Brothers...thanks for posting it.....

  • you're welcome, and thanks for commenting.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks for the posting.

  • you're welcome!

  • Wow, Great Cover Versions of the Everly Brothers. Never heard this before

  • The detailed description on note helps me a lot to learn provenance of the song and the singer. The quality of sound is high enough to enjoy these wonderful songs. Thanks for sharing nice songs.

  • You're welcome! I always like to put a little information or history about the singers or musical groups, especially when it comes to the more obscure artists.

  • Love The Blue Diamonds!! Thanks.

  • You're welcome, and thanks for commenting. They're one of my favorites, as well. I'm planning to make at least one more video about them, so stay tuned!

  • Looking forward to it.

  • Would you have their Tokyo Geisha? The one already posted here is distorted. Hoping you have it and, if you do, hoping you would post it. Fingers crossed. :)

  • I'm sorry to say that "Tokyo Geisha" is not part of my Blue Diamonds collection :( However, I'm ALWAYS looking for more stuff by the Blue Diamonds and my other favorite artists from the 60's. I'm sure I'll find it eventually... in which case I will certainly post it for you!
