Its good to see you bad bud, loving the new intro and the review...i cant believe its been 36 years since i visited my little old granny and saw the this first episode on a Saturday night on their new 16in colour TV.....the colour blow my mind.
Oh and the tank effects were also a big regret of the director but at the time it was completely passable TV.
It gets better from here on in, and your review has regenerated with the doctor, I like it! Though im surprised you didnt mention that awful scene with the toy tank hahaha i couldnt stop laughing at that
Yes Robot had some hit and miss effects and yes its still stuck in the Pertwee era but the story is solid and entertaining and I love it. All that stuff with the Doctor trying on new costumes is great. I think Harry is a great companion. Ive got a good feeling about that Tom Baker fellow, I think hes gonna last a long time.

ROBOT is a real charmer worth the watching. Overall a well-written and produced story, with some very minor SFX bobbles. A warm, Pertwee-feeling ease into the wild Tom Baker era.
Watch Lis Sladen in the back ground in Part 2, as she alone seems to understand and enjoy Tom's goofiness in the scenes. Tom/Lis clicked instantly.
The DVD is loaded with features, and is Netfilx available.
@63DW89A That connection between Lis and Tom IS apparent, eh? He jumped right into the role and he is so instantly lovable and yet with a wrinkle of his eyebrow and a drop in tone of voice he becomes a completely different being.
'Robot' is a fine opener to the Tom Baker era. The robot itself is brillaintly designed and all the acting throughout is very good. It was a very good idea on the productions part to base the story in the well recognised mould of the Jon Pertwee era. This isn't the best story of the Tom Baker era or even Season 12 for that matter but it's still enjoyable to watch.

Love it mate good set as well, not as cluttered.
