Yeah, Genesis going with the times, trying a little reggae-ish sound starting at 1:43 but at 3:22 right there: that awesome Genesis wall of sound with all those wonderful Banks chord changes plus Phils awesome vocals! Sadly the last true Genesis before 80s tastes (NOT Phil Collins!!!) almost completely reduced Genesis to a mainsteam pop band. The 80s did that to all great 70s acts (Queen: "body language" anyone?).

Try the Album "Three sides live" Abacab was just a condensed version of songs as by then they really did not care about the music and were in full sell out mood away from there roots.

The Abacab version was expertly mixed and enhanced in the studio, of course. Live doesn't allow for the same level of production. But a cool observation nevertheless, gmn!

i dont think its as good as the version on the abacab album sorry folks. still good but not as good :-( AN NOW IM STANDING ON THE CORNER. i have this on original lp and there were 4 differant colours to choose from. great post GLICKTON :-)

I think it is better than the Abacab version: the music is almost studio quality--really only Phil's singing gives it away as obviously live (and the crowd noise at the finish). At the same though there's a certain intensity, which this song builds on, that shines through a bit more than on other versions. Maybe the mix is better, but the music is presented almost flawlessly, in my opinion, but emotionally stronger at the same time.
