So agree with what you say with this obsession with apps, personally thats why I will never own an Iphone and that to me is the reason I don't like the new dash board I feel its just beeen done so people can access their live accounts on smart phones. To me I really don't see why someone feels tghe need to access live account on your mobile phone???

But, with my android (which still has the annoying moniker of "apps" for it's programs, I don't have a single program that doesn't serve some practical function (like weather or traffic updates).

Also it seems like just scrolling through the different sections of the dashboard is slower now.
I don't think it's bad. It looks nice and I think the search feature is pretty wizard. The only problem I have with it is that everything is cramped together. Personally I think the first 360 dashboard is the best.

they should give you a choice on stuff, PS3 updates, even though you have to do it, they aren't a big deal because they don't change anything on the menu, they mainly just add stuff for software and patch glitches. even though i'm not a 360 user, that's ridiculous that it forces you to change the style of menu, same thing for youtube, it's lookin like myspace now.

The OS I am using (Ubuntu) have a Long Time Support system. They release new versions of ubuntu twice a year, but every 5th release is a long time support release. Long time support is great if you don't care about the latest and greatest, but just want everything to be as stable as possible.
Because All these new updates all the time are very annoying, and can actually fuck up your console or pc.
Companies need to update their shit for many reasons. One main reasons is to be in competition - to prove to that they have new features when others don't. Unfortunately, most of the time, this breaks down completely, as nearly most tech "updates" are complete shit. This is why I never update my iPhone every time I plug it in my computer. It's only gonna take up more space.
