I saw Boz and his band with Les Dudek in September 1973, opening for the Allman Brother - the week Brothers and Sisters was released. Boz with Les, playing all these great tunes was fantastic. Not long after, Boz went in a different direction, but when he felt like, he rock with the best of them and burn the house down.
I was hoping something from his televised performances back in the 70's would turn up.... alas not.
Btw, not to detract from this tune... can't help but feel that this song might've been in some way inspired by 'The Tighten Up' by Archie Bell & the Drells.
Just saw Boz playing on one stage with Michael McDonald, and Donald Fagen...what a thrill to see these musical greats having a good time with their egos in check. Awesome.concert...do try to catch them in your part of town. They're touring as the DUKES OF SEPTEMBER...I guarantee you'll not be disappointed.
Moments has FINALLY been remastered and is once again available. One of Boz's best albums! Like rslitman, I heard this song and Near You frequently on the radio at the time it was issued. In my case, it was KDEO in San Diego.
I concur wholeheartedly with your comments. I must've seen Boz in small clubs in Marin and at Fillmore West in the City 10 plus times but never after he became "mainstream" with the "disco" scene. His early albums are still his best.
How can anyone NOT smile hearing this classic? Boz has been riding on a crest that few listeners; or even some of his 'disco' fans had no idea how talented he was BEFORE "Lowdown" was a twinkle in his own eyes? "Loan Me a Dime"??? With Duane Allman is another classic tune, in every sense of the classic term/discription; in my opinion??? Rock on; Boz............rock on; brother!!!!???
This song came out quite a few years before songs like "Lowdown" and "Lido Shuffle". I actually had (and still have) the album this was on, which I bought around 1971 after hearing this song and another one called "Near You" on the radio. I don't know if it has ever come out on CD.

@gskunk56 'I'll Be Long Gone' was my favorite from that album. Which to me is a sorely overlooked classic.
