  • I think it's really awesome that you got to see a whale shark, not many people say they can!

    But I agree with abbearman, You shouldnt be touching them..the skin is about 4 inches thick but it could become infected if the mucus covering is broken, so touching them is highly disscouraged and not recommended.

  • There are not that many sightings in the Gulf of Mexico in retrospect. To my knowledge it is a very rare occurrence for them to be so close to shore as well. It was fun!
