Did they (the writers) do a very important thing which would have been safe keeping of the PARTITURA?
I would imagine so because they could read music notaion.
People all over try to get NOTATION of the Portuguese folklore and for the most part is NOT FOUND ANYWHERE? Not even the FADO which is very popular.
Most other nations have ALL their folklore melodies archived in PAPER?
I try to do some for free, but hardly anyone appreciates it!

My Grandfather and His Brothers wrote that song in the Azores. They were part of the Portugeese Philharmonic
