I heard this in a Starbucks in Albuquerque, NM. We had just come down an icy mountain road from the Christ Monastery in the desert where we avoided several close calls to disaster. Just feels like we were meant to hear this!
Man, Maek Kozelek can do no wrong and I've been a fan since I heard The Red House Painters' "Japanese To English" in Hal Hartley's film, AMATEUR back in the mid-90's. LOVE the live version of this on the SUN KIL MOON live disc, LOST VERSES-LIVE. My favorite 3 songwriters of the past 15 years are so are Mark, Grant Lee Philips, and Joe Pernice. All three are so prolific and just seem incapable of writing bad music. But yeah, THIS is just brilliant.

could be something from Woodstock, CS&N - it fits exactly into this time.
MK special field - sounds like CS&N.

Love this...was the echo/reverb added before or after the original was released?
