I hope Broxton makes his way to the NL EAST. So we can rape him like George Lucas and Speilberg raped Indiana Jones. Thats what I think about watching Phillies hit against Broxton.
was in the bahamas....when this happened...the place where i was...looked like any bar in south philly...NOTHING BUT PHILLIES JERSEY'S....AND HATS...i'd say we travel well!
Matt Stairs will be 44 in February. I wonder if a team will offer him a contract for 2012? He has played from 1992-2011 with I believe the most different teams in MLB history: Expos, Red Sox, A's, Cubs, Brewers, Pirates, Royals, Rangers, Tigers, Blue Jays, Phillies, Padres, and Nationals.
@pakkmann Here's the thing. I hate Joe Buck, and he does seem to harbor some odd hatred towards Philly, but this call wasn't particularly lackluster or one-sided to me. He absolutely does lackluster calls for the Phillies and it just takes the life out of the moment. The problem with Buck is that we shouldn't even be discussing if a commentator's calls were enthusiastic or not..they should always be enthusiastic as well as unbiased. We should be discussing whether a commentator is good or not.
Sometimes nice guys do get their due. Mind you this home run made him an extra few million dollars and extended his career for a couple of years....so it's all good.
Thanks Matt for being a good example of a Canadian. May you enjoy a well earned retirement.
By far the greatest Postseason moment in phillies history....defintley was the tide turner in us winning it all in '08. I'm surprised the cover was knocked off as hard as he hit it, I don't even think Mickey Mantle hit a ball that hard.....Majestic & Mythical Shot!
@T81PA .. I 100% agree with you... We were up in that series 2 - 0... then the dodgers won game 3 and then we were losing that game... I remember when the Dodgers took the lead in that game, looking down in the pillow of my couch and thinking 'this is it.. this is how a philadelphia team manages to lose every year'... Then Victorino's HR that looked like a double.. then Stairs... I texted my friend and said... I can't believe it.. we're the best team in baseball... Grat comment T81PA
