  • Been there, bought the 'T- Shirt' love the action and Clancy Brown is "fabtastic."

  • the movie was okay not great but worth illegally downloading

  • damn I never knew a movie trailer could cause so much uproar, hell yall are just letting the jews that control hollywood, push your buttons, you gotta be smarter than that,I swear thsi youtube thing brings out so much negative emotion, no wonder the illuminati allows it to flourish.its the same thing on the Braveheart videos, ppl complaining about it not being accurate,WHO GIVES A FUCK,im not looking for accuracy when I watch a movie,Im looking unwind and be entertained, lol

  • @BorderCityBandit FUCK THE illuminati's new age. Hell, they aren't even illuminati anymore, they just use the name.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Takes Knee.........Hail Dovahkiin!!!

  • This movie sucks balls

  • the director would of known that this wasn't a historical picture of the Vikings, but its for entertainment purposes, and i think it works.. I like it. If he wanted to pull of a completely accurate film, it wouldn't be that good, there certainly wouldn't be this many fight scenes for a start.

  • Really?????

Read The Book!!!! Its is the best thing i have ever read! 502 pages of the most specific and crative writting! So much better when you imagine what is going on!!!! This is dull crap, AND, at the begging it said 600 years before columbus, the book sais there is one part in the book that said 'if columbus was a nose he could have never found Canada"

WTF is 600 years before columbus, lies!!!

    READ...THE...BOOK!!!!

  • @SovietSnyp ..put down the book and go outside and look around you might change you're mind and books are censord from the real events that took place. so a book is not a relieable source..

  • that movie fukin'sucked

  • Life was rough back then. When the farming couldn't susstain the people they resorted to trade and raid. If your people were starving, you would resort to a barbaric ethos. When times were good, there would be many children and love. Kind of corny but I think, true.

  • wtf is it good or no ...? damn

  • well of course its a fairy tale. but the author screwed up vikings big time.... horned helmets in vikings? bullshit. Vikings were pagans who cherished family and never killed their own left and right. and how come they came to Newfoundland or lets say north eastern Canada and in the movie they are running around some swamp Louisiana fucking forests changing to damn Rockies or something? lol author kill yourself please

  • hmm, the last time i checked the vikings did not ride their horses in battle, they just used them to get where the battle would be. damnit -.-

  • I like how Himeywood likes to portray all white Civilizations this way. The Norse who discovered America most likely never "waged war" on the Natives. I seriously doubt if they "slaughtered and took slaves." Give us a fucking break for a change, you ugly little weirdos.

  • @987345987345 actually many of them settled down with the indians:) there are traces of a co-viking/ indian culture;)

  • There are two wolves within us that fight. The wolf of love (good) and the wolf of hate (evil).

  • he used to be an adventurer then he took an arrow in the knee

  • If the main character is a full-blood Native American rather than an adapted White dude, I will be happy to watch this film-that is why I prefer to watch Braveheart.

  • its a hollywood movie... not a fictional documentary.... obviously lots of things arent going to be historically or politically correct..... i mean shit Godzilla may have been the size of a building but we all know he didn't spit fire! Get it right geeze

  • fuck you stupid north americans

  • take care of swe and bring the vikings back to the Scandinavia!! må oden vara med er.

  • Ninjas and aliens, cowboys and aliens,COWBOYS AND NINJAS, viking and native americans .... THIS IS MADNESS

  • old scandinavians vs native americans and they all speak great american language ! what a lovely situation

  • Umm wasn't there a book called pathfinder? On he back (I'm reading it right now) it said to check out the trailer.....funny enough it's not like the book at ALL:/

  • @oldtreebeard1 yeah, but appareantly most people don't consider norsism a religion. :I and i think wolves are a good symbol for the vikings. cause they hit hard, and fast, usually in larger groups, and they cause tremendous fear among their enemies.

  • All for people who think is very unaccurate, or not calling them not real vikings, this is actually based on a graphic novel. Kind of reminds me a bit of 300 a bit :L

  • 1:57 Hahahahahah!!

  • this is shit

  • The Arabians discovered the Americas through California and Mexico. The vikings made it to Canada. Before either of them,Asians had been wandering into the land for thousands of years.

  • i thought i might have to look at more parts of the movie then the trailer like other movies.. but no. ive seen enough. this shit is retarded. the "vikings" sound and look like orcs. what the fuck? 99% of the vikings didn't have horns in their helmets either. they weren't heartless butcherers.. a large part of america today is thanks to norwegians. always judge by stereotypes, no research. fucking piss me off. i'll cut off your heads and place it on a pike you fat stupid ungratefull palefaces

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 I agree with you on the subject of horned helmets... although there have been no findings of horned helmets, I dare say that one or two warriors over the years wore horned helmets. Horned helmets could have also been used ceremonially. And no, they weren't all heartless butchers. Perhaps those circa 900AD onwards... but certainly those around 690AD to about 820AD were savages and slaughted all in their pathes.

  • @EternityInValhalla yeah. like funerals or meetings, etc.. but not in combat. they usually wore just a iron or steel helmet with eye lookout points and some engravings in them perhaps, nothing much more special. and yeah perhaps the most progressive in trade and friendlest of the vikings must have been the swedes. as for those who butchered ... well, we have war in our blood. you can't always deny a wolf's lust for hunt, now can you? ;P (nice username btw)

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 It makes you wonder where people got the idea of horned helmets from. There must have been at LEAST one warrior who had some kind of horn or iron spikes on his helmet. I don't think you can rule the idea out completely. Perhaps said helmet is just undiscovered? And yeah, the swedes were probably the most progressive in trade and friendliest. The Norse and Danes are known for their brutality.

  • I may be wrong, but the Swedes created a united country under one king long before the Norse or Danes. And therefore had to be much more civilised. And no, you certainly can't deny a wolf's lust for the hunt.. or a horde of silver and a good story for the skalds to tell around hearthfires. If those wolves are vikings that is. ;)

  • @EternityInValhalla "they came from the north like savage wolves" or something in that direction, quoted by one of the british priests if i remember correctly. the vikings were atheists, like most of the scandinavian people is today. i wouldn't hesitate to step on "holy ground" and slaughter them all if i was one of the viking raiders. i would enjoy every bit of it in the name of our glorious Odin.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Hey man, there are worse things than to have your people known as bad-ass motherfuckers.

  • @tikletik yeah the majority might know. but the rest just makes profit or fun out of the old legends. obviously as seen here. turning old history into a hardcore Lotr battle scene... -___-

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 the funny thing is that americans dont give a shit ^^

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 i feel sorry for you when you watch movies or better yet the people that see movies with you. you must critic everything that isn't actual in movies.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 I'm an American and I think this movie is bullshit too :)

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Why are you offended by a hollywood movie? Most cultures in the world have a bloody history, some longer then others, its nothing to be ashamed of.

  • @tpexr i guess i expected too much. loooool. i don't know how the fuck i got a top rated comment in the first place... and im not ashamed of my country's history. my ancestors got closer to destroying the stupid brits then anyone else! and they almost took over medieval europe, im just ashamed of the norwegians today... stupid christian retards. but nvm..

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Hey I'm Part brit :( Stupid Xtain Retards indeed though ;)

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 i have a Norwegian girlfriend, lots of nice people there, you don't have to be ashamed, your country is one of the best. And i agree with Christianity , it has brought the dark ages and is holding mankind back ever since.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99

Oh for the love of god, you are watching a trailer for a movie, they are not supposed to be realistic but entertaining

+ are you from norway ? dont you like being filmed as total-badass of awesomeness ?

  • @olentattimies i dunno, do you think orcs are that awesome? or do you hate them like the foul mud offspring they are? :I i would be happy if they made an overly dramatic action-adventure movie based on the warriors of valhalla returning to earth to banish the evil known as western influence. but like i said im just expecting too much... :3

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Calm down dude, it's a fictional movie, not a historic documentary.

  • @Arthion3 yeah i sort of noticed that...

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 no one gives a shit about your history lessons people want to remember the vicious vikings just like they want to remember the indians as savages its just how shit works. vikings are bad ass and nobody would want to watch a movie about vikings that don't kill rape and pillage because if they don't do that its pretty much fucking boring so chill and shut your fucking mouth

  • @boardmouth23 no one? well they thumbed up my comment anyways. and i don't really fucking care what you think, i wrote this 2 months ago. go and insult somebody else.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Most vikings fought and killed for fun..

  • @MrBrandt138 oh of course they did. cause you have proof right? oh wait, no. fucking retard. what makes you believe that anyways? old ass myths? they fought because they had no choice, the land was unusable, and they had to venture to new ones. they sought greater glory and expansion for their undererestimated kingdom. nothing was fun about murder.. usefull in some cases perhaps, as in scaring enemies. but if you think something like that would be "fun". then go kill yourself. seriously.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 I live in Iceland so this is tought to me pretty much every day and these were my bedtime stories is that enough?

  • @MrBrandt138 how can you still think that the ones that settled and established your land, your ANCESTORS could be murderers without goal?

  • @MrBrandt138 yes, what? yes you're an ignorant basement dweller? okay.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Haha your mad? that you are simply wrong?

  • @MrBrandt138 wrong? how? you really THINK that you are right???!?!?!? are you actually mentally disabled? you have absolutely no proof or anything at all that supports your claims. you're an idiot and do not deserve the title of an icelander. go hang yourself before you make up more bad rumors of your masters.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 I dont think im right i know im right. Most vikings were very brutal and showed no mercy.

Every person that has intrust in it knows it.

  • @MrBrandt138 yes they were brutal and merciless, that tends to make a fearsome reputation for good warriors. but you claimed they didn't have any other goal them murdering for fun. wich shows your ignorance. if they did that then the republic you live in wouldn't exist. expansion, gold, glory etc... were all main goals of our ancestors. do not let myths, christians, or possibly anything else make you believe otherwise.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Have you ever heard about grettir asmundarson?..

  • @MrBrandt138 the icelandic criminal?

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Ur not even educated..

  • @MrBrandt138 ...

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99

You're under 18 aren't you? If not then you might be severely retarded.

  • @AlitRama Hah, im sorry but insulting isn't going to help you if thats what you think.

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 Why dont you go and complain that Transformers wasn't real...

  • @onlyplayingme Oh no, i wouldn't spoil it for little kids like you, that would be mean. =3

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 its a freaking trailer. its just to make it more interesting

  • @cuzgandalfgothigh99 man this shit is like comic book, its entertainment not fucking history chanel documentary....me and my friends get stoned as fuck, blast Blind Guardian and watch this and its fucking awsome!

    why so serious,bitches?

  • @Alos21 why so serious? sorry if i seem so but one of the only movies made about my ancestors portray them as soulless beasts. retarded.

  • fake and gay

  • This movie is Sci-fi. Yes the Vikings ended up in north-america. but there is several things that isnt right... The viking helmets did NOT have horns... They did rarerly use horses, the wep. calld Maze was not used by the vikings... So people, no need to rly think this was real or have happened. Just saying.

  • @ChriisoX Dude its obvious a fictional movie, the fights are fictional and its based 200 years before the vikings came to newfoundland. get over it. when did it ever say it was fact

  • @walkertexasranger33 as I said, Just saying. Its not my fault im so ''keen'' after the truth :P

  • @ChriisoX thank you for standing up for my heritage and blodline =)

im am pure skandinavian and its good to see somebody from other countrys know about thetrue culture of the vikings

  • @Esgarothares No problem. The same here

  • I am almost positive that this movie is based off of the Comic book with the same name

  • @HarunDanyal The same people were behind both. They planned to make the film first, but -as often happens- they decided to do the graphic novel first to help promote it and get a fan base going while waiting for permission to begin filming. They got the go-ahead before the graphic novel was completed, but they were both released at about the same time. Unfortunately, the movie is nowhere near as impressive as the book.

  • Manet to put pathfinders but i got this shit.

  • People seem to forget the Al Gore discovered America and invented the internet on the first day, and when he was done, he said - it was all good. The on the second day, he discovered global warming ... ... ...

  • @QlimaxDennis how did they looked?

  • muito bom o filme

  • People seem to forget that the Chinese discovered America first.

  • I wish i could have lived in those times! Killing and slaying for treasures.. Lenge lev Vikingan!

  • @crosstim94 You can still kill and slay for treasure...

  • pocahontas 1.0

  • @cjshinigami What? :O No! :D

  • this movie is stupid, first of all Vikings were nothing like this, they didnt wear horned helmets or fight on horseback, second the storyline is stupid, third, the message is stupid, "vikings are bad guys" why ? because they killed weaker men ? ohh come on, on that age is was kill or be killed and the strongest won, why should the strong ones be seen as the bad guys for killing weaker people (at that era, not now, anybody can pull a trigger it doesnt take anything), so the whole film is crap.

  • @Tobolococo because the kikes who run Hollywood want you to hate your White racial heritage. Nevertheless, this movie just makes us look amazingly powerful.

  • @vorzeichen89 lol yeah "whites are bad" is sort of becoming a theme, anyways it does make us look powerfull, but then again white races were always powerfull troughout history, glad they at least got that right.

  • @Tobolococo And they sure know how to get revenge: use a White invented technology (film) to make him look bad. Hell, I know, let's all go live in fucking teepees and not have useless shit like medicine, writing, the wheel...all dem evil white trinkets

  • @vorzeichen89 ...and we whites ARE powerful !! the only strength the kikes hold is deception and parasitic mind games. A kike cannot truly fight without his money, media and weapons of mass destruction. For a kike is not a man but a parasite.

  • @vorzeichen89 fuck yeah man

  • uhggg you mean Scandinavians are pretty badass ONLY when they are raised by American indigenous...I HATE the fact that they put (Moon Bloodgood) to play as a Native American, when she is not...she is Asian "South Korean"....why didnt they put a real Native American girl like these babes->watch?v=bzck-_MROrI .....thats the only thing that i hate about this movie..i knew there was something wrong about her...-_- they could of had put a indigenous actress from Latin America too. if they wanted.

  • Vikings!

  • the trailer just told me the whole movie! no point of watchin now

  • @billsemotional Why do people make trailers like that? its just like the one for The Eagle, the movie seems good but tha trailer spoils it all!

  • VIVA SCANDINAVIA ))

  • I don't see why everyone thinks this movie is terrible.

  • this movie would be so cool if it wasn't so fake.

These are not Vikings: these are Uruk'hai - or even worse....

  • I don't think that vikings were evil

  • lol.... Games Workshop should sue them... Chaos Marauders/Warriors Undivided anyone?

  • And im sure there have been someone before Cheng Ho.

So who deserves the credit for actually discovering America?

    Nothing but stupid history

  • In 1497, the Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci discovered a new country, and it was named America by the map maker, Martin Waldseemuller.

However, it was later realized that Amerigo’s friend, the Spanish explorer, Christopher Columbus, had been there a few years earlier in 1492. But it was too late to rename the country Columbia.

More recently evidence has appeared showing that in fact it was the Chinese Admiral Cheng Ho who discovered America in 1421.

  • @MrIseOled but no hard evidence were ever discovered. Whereas there is a viking settlement in L’Anse aux Meadows, Newfounland. Dated arounf 998 AD. They lived there for 2-3 years and then took off back home.

  • 0:38 That's what she said.

  • There were also a kind of democracy, the “ting”. At the “ting” the tribes meat and decided things by voting and debating and carried out courts where people where judge by their peers. Also people were not subdued by the kings in the same way as in the rest of Europe, but people were in many ways much freer and to a degree equal to the kings in Viking society. Not to mention that the kings were elected by the tribes at the “ting”.

I hope that clarified a few things.

  • @NiklasZenius You're my hero of the day.

  • @NiklasZenius sure did thanks a lot man. cheers

  • The Roman legions for example, often massacred their enemies, even carried out holocausts against Germanic people, meaning that they killed all in an attempt to exterminate the tribe and ethnic group. But Viking society was in many respects more free and civilised than the rest of Europe. Women had more or less equal rights and had the right to divorce among other things.

  • Seven: The Vikings were not monsters. They didn’t rape and murder everywhere they went. Often they just traded. But yeas, they plundered and invaded a lot of countries, and yeas, when they did, they also killed people, burnt their homes and raped the women. But so did all the other people of Europe and the rest of the civilised world.

  • @NiklasZenius the viking are barbians more likely they would have killed us off but they under estimated us

  • That only kings and the like wore swords as a sign of status first happens long after the Viking age. And it was not because of difficulties in producing them but because they wanted to concentrate military power around the nobles. In Viking society all free people, men and women, were to a high degree equal and had equal rights to bear weapons as a sign of their freedom.

  • Sixth: @BraunDang Iron swords were a common thing in Scandinavia. It was common for a Viking trader and warrior to where 3 weapons on him at all time when he was out on travel: A large axe, a sword and a knife. Vikings could also create fantastic swords. There are many famous Viking tales of especially good swords who was said to be magical or almost alive, so good were they.

  • . They were well disciplined warriors when they needed to be. Their famous tactic were the “shield wall” where the Viking warriors when together in a long line shield by shield so that the “wall” could not be penetrated, and using their long axe to cut down the enemy. A tactic that requires a big degree of discipline.

  • That the Vikings were superior in military terms is seen by their ability to: besiege Paris for 2 years where they in the end had to be bought off. That they conquered England in 1013 and several times later (from other Viking tribes), that they conquered Normandy in France, Russia (Rus means Viking) all the ways from Finland down to the black sea, Sicily and south Italy, large part of Ireland and Scotland, north-east of modern Germany and the Baltics.

  • @NiklasZenius they didn't conquer Russia. :) they were asked to come for help in tribal war between slavic people. since then Rurik's dynasty ruled Kievan Rus for i think 700 years.

  • DasGrammarNazi writes: “Every great battle we have on record where a Viking army stood against an organized European army of equal size, the Europeans won.”. That is not true. The Viking nations and tribes were superior to most European nations and could not only defeat armies of equal size but also of superior size.

  • The Vikings afterwards went away because they didn't want to live in a place where they would be in constant war with the local people. But they were not driven off.

Fifth: The Vikings were superior warriors than the other European nations. Most free men in Scandinavia were trained in warfare and the Vikings had developed weapons (including longboats, their famous ships) and tactics that were superior to the other nations.

  • @NiklasZenius i also read that they left Newfoundland after spending few years in there because the lands were not worth the long trip from Greenland or Iceland. And there was no resources in Newfoundland which they couldn't get back home.

  • The Vikings wore wooden shields, metal armours (ring mail for example), had iron weapons and big bows with iron arrows, they were more experienced and disciplined warriors and could build walls around their encampment. The Indians fought as individuals, had stone weapons, smaller bows, no armour and skin shields. The Indians didn't stand a chance and fled without killing a single Viking.

  • One day an Indian none the less, tried to get his hands on an iron axe, it came to a fight and the Viking ended with cutting him down with the axe.

Afterwards the Indians attacked the Viking settlement but were easily defeated by the Vikings. I have noticed that some have written in the comments that the Indians easily drove the Vikings off. This is untrue.

  • I have read a few of the comments and as a student of history in Denmark I feel obliged to correct a “few” historical misunderstanding in the trailer and the comments.

But first, I don’t expect a Hollywood movie to be historical correct. I think it would be good if they were, in fact, the real histories are often much cooler than the Hollywood wannabes and there is no good argument for the movies not being historical correct.

  • But I accept that the world is not perfect and the USA is the shithole of the world in respect cultural achievements and historical knowledge ;)

But come on! This movie is simply too far out to ignore it. I can’t concentrate on the blood and action whens its soooo bad… An how the fuck some pretty-boy Indians with feathers in their hair should ever be able to defeat bad ass Viking is a hole other question besides… But then again, it is after all a Viking child who does the job for them…

  • But joking asides:

First of all: Vikings didn't reach North America until about year 1000. Columbus came to America a few years before 1500. Aka: It didn't happen 600 years before Columbus.

Secondly: Vikings didn't were hornet helmets. In all of the archaeological diggings ever done, only one hornet helmet have ever been found. Wearing horns on a helmet is not practical and the Vikings were very practical people.

  • Thirdly: When the Vikings came to North America they didn't come to plunder. Why should they? The Indians were not very developed as a culture and had nothing of value to conquer. Vikings raided in Europa, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, not in America. Sailing from the Viking nations of Scandinavia, Iceland and West Greenland to America was a very long trip. Why should they do it when there were extremely rich nations just a bit south of the border?

  • Fourthly: The Vikings did have a colony in North America in a very short period and it did come to a single battle with the Indians. But this occurred not because the Vikings attacked, quite the contrary. The Vikings traded peacefully with the Indians exchanging cloth and tools for skins and food among other things. But the Vikings forbid the Indians to buy weapons and metal things.

  • @NiklasZenius you know about the Maya and the Aztecs too?

  • This is about as historical incorrect as it could possible be...

  • If the real Vikings were really this bad-ass, then the 'Minnesota Vikings' should have to change their name to the Minnesota 'Florists' or 'Kittens' or something, since they played like little girls last season...

  • If the upcoming Conan the Barbarian looks like this, it will provoque nothing but dissapointment. Robert E. Howard deserves a better class of filmmaker. We shall see.

  • Comment removed

  • they wore helmets like that because of the way the native north americans described them

  • @QlimaxDennis did you ever wonder why the Vikings went en masse out of Scandinavia from 700AD on? Apart from some exploration of Arctic and Canada which we know they did I contend their attacks on Ireland, Britain and Europe were in retaliation for the surge north by the murdering Charlemagne and his fuckhead proto-Crusaders who murdered any Dane or Norwegian who preferred to pray to Odin than Yahweh! Look it up. See if I'm wrong. I think the Viking expansion was a kick back against Charlemagne

  • @lisduggan64 There were many different groups of Vikings, most of whom didn't care about the plights of other tribes. Charlemagne's actions didn't influence the actions of Scandinavians of the Viking age. They initially tried to trade with central Europe. The raping and pillaging only began after hefty taxes were put on their trade due to their pagan beliefs. This resulted in the Vikings establishing trade routes with the Middle East and raiding central Europe.

  • neither vikings nor indians did have such advanced weapons at the supposed time...

besides, swords were only used by trained swordsmen, a feat that could and was only accomplished by highly civilized states, such as late Greece, Rome and later on by some of the medieval states.

Swords look nice etc, but they need ALOT of skill to create and an excessive amount of training to be practical. Hence barbarians like the vikings used axes and other primitive "tools".

    Nevermind the archaic indians

  • @BraunDang Viking swords may not have been that common, but they did exist. Vikings had some excellent metal workers, even the celts did in the time of the late roman republic (which was about a thousand years before the viking time) Though neither the vikings, nor the germanic tribes/kingdoms that came before them, nor celts before them, would not have been able to produce weapons/armour at the scale of the roman empire.

  • @BraunDang haha what an dickk move dude the vikings used axes because the were capable of spliting helmets and plates of armor not because they were tools even some of the the most accomplished viking warriors carried axes

  • @powerslaveiron49 well, dick move, but true nonetheless... Accomplished warrior or not, swordsmen need to be highly and professionally trained... its not done by waving your dick in a garage, it needs copious amounts of time and resources to train a significant number of swordsmen, something the vikings simply didnt have...

besides, well forged swords cost an insane amount to produce, esp. in those days. thats why only kings, if at all, wielded them as a symbol of wealth and prestige...

  • @BraunDang ya im disaagreeing theres no way that vikings could preduce sowrds on such a miasive scale i was just saying even tho vikings werent "professionally trained" soliders they were still a very donting oponet

  • @BraunDang European nations tried to prevent their populaces from learning to fight, so that they wouldn't be overthrown by the peasantry. Scandinavians, on the other hand, all had to have a knowledge of hunting and warfare, as they were always engaged in infighting. As such, preying on the vulnerable central Europeans didn't require the vikings to have an insane degree of mastery with their weapons.

  • @DasGrammarNazi that is quite correct, additionally the vikings used naval and, more importantly, river based raiding tactics, something the central european nations were not used to at the time. It was less the fact that the vikings were a superior force in a conventional fight (which they were not!), but more the use of hitherto unknown tactics.

A decent analogy for the vikings would be to call them huns that used waterways instead of horses to raid

  • @BraunDang Exactly. Every great battle we have on record where a Viking army stood against an organized European army of equal size, the Europeans won. The Vikings were excellent warriors on an individual level, but lacked the military discipline and organization of other nations of the time. Nonetheless, their valour lives on in tales from Rome and the Byzantine Empire(the latter of which was unorthodox Christian), where Vikings served as highly acclaimed bodyguards known as Varangians.

  • viking kick ass and indians suck as far as im concerned

  • People seem to forget that Christopher Columbus did NOT discover america first!!

  • @TheXIJoker well said !

  • @TheXIJoker no St Brendan of Ireland did - 300 years before the Vikings!

  • @TheXIJoker lol....your right....and it wasnt the scandinavians either....or else there wouldnt have been PEOPLE there when they ''discovered it''.....

  • @TheXIJoker Are you retarded? Go take some History 101

  • @TheXIJoker

You cannot forget what you do not know

  • @TheXIJoker yes he did but he though he was in India that's when he called the native americans red Indian americans.

  • @TheXIJoker Ha, ha! Yeah, people seem to forget that vikings didn't either. If anyone "discovered" north and south America it was probably those pre-historic Asian people that were here ages before any Europeans showed up at all. :P

  • @VaultCult There was a book called "1421" It was about how China discovered America. But it turned out to be false. Im pretty sure it was an Italian explorer named Amerigo Vespucci. However, he didnt realise that he had come across an undiscovered land. So, the credit went to Christopher Columbus. America is named after Amerigo Vespucci.

  • @TheXIJoker vikings were in heavener oklahoma about 800 a.d. according to the ruinstones we have here, and in michigan around the same time, they are believed to have came in across the great lakes then carried on down the Mississippi river exploring its tributaries and branches, which is how they ended up in oklahoma, from the arkansas river...
