My rabbit Royce has head tilt and looks and acts exactly like Ripley does in the video above. He's had head tilt for about a month now. Do you have any advice or helpful tips? He barely tips over so I have hope that he's going to make it. How long was Ripley on antibiotics for? Is he still on critical care?
@Touchedesigns Ripley functions quite normally and eats plenty of hay, proper portions of pellets, and about 1/2 a cup of greens a day. He still looses his balance and rolls now and then but he is healthy otherwise. The cause of the head-tilt is crucial to know in order to properly treat the rabbit as appropriate treatment will bring him out of it. Ripley was not treated by his owners and the damage is done. If antibiotics are used it should be a 4-6 week treatment initially.
@TheCully321 Thank you. Just for the record, we did not "buy" him...we rescued him from the people that did buy him and had no idea how to care for a rabbit. It is the ignorance of people that buy rabbits at pet stores without knowing about their very special needs for care and feeding that cause those of us in rescue and fostering to spend many hours every week caring for the damage they have done. If you, or anyone reading this, considers getting a rabbit, PLEASE do your research first! Thanks

Happy Birthday!!! Sad to see his head go all the way over to the other side when he's grooming only to go back when done :(

Yes, he does turn it up very well to groom, and even when he is eating sometimes, but it will never stay, unfortunately.
