I wouldn't worry too much. Hatchi's are one of the most difficult to drift due to the lack of power. Once you get it, you can drift pretty much anything. :) My first car was a 86. Then I went to a 240 and everything was Sooo easy. Lol.
@Hackxcore 240sx is pretty underpowered too I would say a 240 with a welded diff is easy cuz that's just wut it wants to do all the time at low speeds
@DcEvoIX It was just an example. That's not the only car know how to drift from learning on a 86. ^^ And a 240 has loads more torque than a 86 because the KA was developed for a truck. (:
@Hackxcore the 240 definitely has torque in it's favor but the 86 has a big weight advantage and more balance making it a great car to learn on, the disadvantage is the 86 here in america makes in hp what the 86 in japan makes in torque, so I think if u can drift our 86 stock you really do learn on an underpowered car especially since the car is almost 30 years old if it has the original motor it's probably making under 100hp by now lol
Am I the only one who DOESN'T want an AE86 for drifting? I just want to make it look Factory Stock and no modifications, I want a perfect-fresh of the line GT-S with the original GT-S stickers and GT-S rims, I don't want to race it, just to drive around in it, keep it garaged, Waxed, high maintenance, and all that stuff haha. Thats the Eight-six Turbo....but of course drift is crappy there...those are fucking bricks. bricks aren't easy to drift on due to pocket holes that can cause slippage.

let me diagnose y u suck at drifting....... have u tried to actually step on the gas pedal?. that might be ur problem, if not then try going a minimum of 65 mph on that turn
The drifting is just a matter of getting throttle control and steering just right in my opinion. I find it easier to drift RWD with one hand on the wheel instead of two like I would in an AWD such as an Eclipse or GTR

I love both the Trueno and Levin lights, altough i prefer the Trueno one's myself. Mainly because of Initial D i guess :)
It had the basic 1.6 16v engine, with a Fujitsibo Manifold and a fully decated RS*R exhaust . In the video it had the silencer removed. I used it as my daily drive for a couple of months (60 miles a day ), but always with the silencer in :)
Respect the AE-86, its not for nothing that Toyota is remaking it.
Oh yes. FT-86, check it out, its a new rearwheel drive car from Toyota :P they are also revamping the Supra, totally futuristic but it's a unique look, like how the previous supra's were all unique.

you have the right idea practicing on a dead road such as this. but u need a little more speed.when coming up to the corner. turn the wheel towards the corner, then as you progress to the corner turn your wheel the other way and gun it. that works for me. good luck fello ae86 owner! lol
