@SupremeJudge so you own hyper neogeo 64 motherboard I guess , I wanted to buy one 4 years ago , it's looks like it's the only good game on this system isn't it ?
@tunkunrunk I like the other fighting games as well but I just love Buriki the most since it's a different game from the Neo Geo norm. I'd like to get the driving games but it's hard to find a driving motherboard.
@kalebparham You had a joystick and 2 buttons. The buttons control the left and right movement and pressed together is the block. You used the joystick for your attacks. It was an 8 way joystick so it was like having 8 attack buttons depending on where you pushed the joystick and what combinations you made with the stick as well.
Sounds like it can be pretty disorienting at first, as it's the complete opposite of just about every fighting game I can possibly think of (Street Fight I being a slight exception).
What're the blue and pink bars under the characters?
@Hijinx1982 That's what made it unique though. I played it with some japanese sticks and it's fun, I think if you play it with Happ sticks it would change the feel a lot though.
@jowrab Of course it does. For one it was Sega's second attempt at 3D and the game is also medium resolution. This game is only standard resolution. Even with the inferior graphics I'd rather play Buriki One.

@Lioyd1rving Ah yes, they were just trying to get a new tournament franchise, but sadly this console was on it`s last legs when this game was released.
@MisterWhat It makes one wonder how things would've played out if the successor had merely been an upgrade. Things like a higher resolution and translucency.
@Proggaddicted Nope. This game is arcade only. I know the MAME boys are trying to get the emulation down but it seems like it won't be done for maybe another year.
4:00 - 4:05 I like how Gai really whiffed that flying roundhouse and got clocked in the face by Ryo's DP for it. Thats good enough to be a Homo genius
Ryo's Ranbu combo is a pretty strong one plus his flying double kick as well so that why the 2nd guy only too just under 8 seconds to beat. This is on normal difficulty, when I play on hard the CPU is just badass.
This is probably the only fighting game that when on hard it feels like you are fighting another person.
@SupremeJudge Frankly it's probably just worth importing this from the UK at the moment. I just got a new kit for £17 delivered and that's about the normal price here right now.
It was just bad timing as it was released on the cusp of SNK going bankrupt. I think if it was released about 2 years earlier then it would have come state side.
Lots of fighters here look similar to some fighters in the real world.
Python - Mike Tyson.
Sitpitak - Changphuek Kiatsongrit.
Ryo - (Not sure but he has a similarity to Jean Claude Van Damme).
Tendo - Kazushi Sakuraba
Ducalis - Royce Gracie
Yong Song - A little similarity to Taek Yong Kwak
Sokolov - A mix of Kurt Angle and Alexander Karelin.
Heyting - Another mix of Kurt Angle and Alexander Karelin.

mrfeelgoodful 1 year ago
@mrfeelgoodful If it was an AOF game, it would have the title in it. Buriki One is a completely new game and Ryo is merely a cameo.
Lioyd1rving 1 year ago
@Lioyd1rving In the manual there is actually an AOF title reference.

SupremeJudge 3 years ago
Not only "pretty strong", its the actual strongest special of the whole game, including Silber.
MisterWhat 2 years ago
It's pretty much the only special in the game. No one else has a combo longer than 4-5 hits.
SupremeJudge 2 years ago
Yeah, the "combo" term would be better suited.
How did you get this game, btw? A conversion, or you happen to have the old Hyper?
MisterWhat 2 years ago
I have a Hyper board. You can see it in my supergun video. Only game I am missing is the Sam Sho 64.
SupremeJudge 2 years ago
Is it even possible to get a Hyper emulator to play this game? I have fond memories of this baby.
MisterWhat 2 years ago
Not currently. Some guy started the process but is still not successful with it. It looks very choppy and laggy with no sound.
