Oh dear, that sounded a little like i was saying Soga-ryu wasnt a real ryu, sorry about that. I should also say that when i said its the first time ive seen anything to do with Soga-ryu i was referring to pysically seeing it, i have indeed heard of it. sorry friend, thank you again.
no worries.we do not have dual sword katas.LONG ANSWER: Well, both Toyama Ryu and Soga Ryu are not koryu. Toyama Ryu (see wikipedia) was established and then say there were some variations by Nakamura Sensei so you have the Nakamura line of kata and training and after 30 or so years of training from Nakamura Sensei, Soga Sensei came up with some drills and sets that he believed dealt directly with cutting with more natural movement and so forth and there you get Soga Ryu.
Greetings friend, i have a question, Im guessing you train in this ryu. My question is if this ryu has dual sword kata, the reason i ask is over 13 years ago i saw a demonstration of Mugen-soga-ryu twin sword kata, i always wondered if it was an actual style since i searched for years and never found anything, in fact this is the first time i have seen anything on "soga-ryu". The other reservation i have is the use of "mugen" it sounds a little pop culturish even for 13 years ago.
SHORT ANSWER: I don't know what mugen soga ryu is but it's nothing to do with us. I'll ask sensei if he knows anything about it. (ha. my typo was "about tit")
and please pass on anything if you do find out about it. (or tit). thanks.
does anyone know if there is a kendo organazition in the mid western united states and if so can anyone get me information on it?
