Every cut is an entire movie unto itself. Every second the camera is trained on that man's face, it tells a story. His talent was astonishing. How is his work not given more attention? How has River Phoenix been relegated to "Teen Idol" territory? The scope of what he produced in his short life is amazing. He could channel his power of empathy and conjure-up people as if they'd been real - as if these characters had lived entire lives. His work deserves far more attention than it's been given...
