A criminal case in which they seek the death penalty, wil cost ten times more than one in which they go for life imprisonment. To be hounest, I'm glad that in my country they abolished death penalty. Not because those bastards don't deserve it, but because of the many mistakes that are made. You can let a innocent man go when he's in prison, but waking up a dead man is pretty close to impossible ;-).

I also believe the CCAS and the case worker should also be punished for not doing a proper back ground check on where and with whom they were placing the children. It's a terrible tragedy. They should have, but I'm guessing they figured the sooner they send the kids to their grandparents, the less trouble they'd have to go through. So basically, that kid died because the sole supporter he had was being lazy and that's what troubles me the most- the fact that kids can't be independent and sometimes, the only ones they can depend on make them go through such horror because they can't fight back.

They should have, but I'm guessing they figured the sooner they send the kids to their grandparents, the less trouble they'd have to go through. So basically, that kid died because the sole supporter he had was being lazy and that's what troubles me the most- the fact that kids can't be independent and sometimes, the only ones they can depend on make them go through such horror because they can't fight back.

I had a stepfather who was way too young to handle a "ready made family" when he married my mother he was 21 y.o.and I was almost 7,at first we did all the "father son things" fishing,sledding and football ETC...the usual father,son things... At the age of 9 my mother had a daughter and I wound up benched/put on I.R. or just ignored because of their new plaything.
