  • This spring I am going to construct a carnivorous plant terrarium. They require NO nutrients so this isn't an issue. However, the system will incorporate a small pump (92gph) I intend to sort of box in the pump with STG. Then, I will layer rock wool on top of this...........because I want the wicking action of rock wool. Am I thinking correctly?

  • @winterfritz1 thank you for the question. Based on the information and several questions we have, we do not want to render an opinion. If you would like our input please call our office, we would be happy to talk it through.

  • @SureToGrowers okay, okay, let me ask you this>>Will water flow freely through th STG medium?

  • @winterfritz1 Yes, STG is free draining, it will hold 30-50 times its weight in water, but will also allow new water to replace old.We have some early videos that demonstrate this action.

  • @SureToGrowers well, your product looks good. I'm going to give it a try. This is exactly what I've been looking for to complete my project, thanks!

  • @SureToGrowers well your product looks like its exactly what I need to complete my project. Thanks for the support and look forward to integrating STG into any future endeavors!

  • @SureToGrowers okay, okay..................let me ask you this then............Will water flow fairly freely through the STG medium; In other words, I know it's porous, but is it permeable?

  • @SureToGrowers okay, okay, let me ask you this........Will water flow freely through the STG medium?? In other words, in addition to being porous, is it permeable???

  • okay, let me ask you this>>Will water flow freely through the STG medium? In other words , How permeable is STG?

  • Honestly though, The only benefit I see to using STG is the fact that I use Deep Water Culture, and it wouldn't hold stagnate, uncirculated solution. I would imagine that this might also be a good thing for block growers but, I would think that because it doesn't hold as much water I may need to top my system off high enough to touch my clone insert. Because of this, I'm not sure an NTF system would be the best combination with STG.

  • 1 Video could summarize all this about STG product line. It's better because it is more inert, does not facilitate the growth of algae, is more durable, does not need to be pre-treated, and allows maximum airflow to roots while maintaining proper humidity because it is far more permeable, allowing the root mass to flourish. (how about this) "like it wasn't even there to begin with." Maybe state it's separate benefits with each system and your done. Then maybe a side-by-side comparison shot. :)

  • YEAH USA!!!!

  • Love this stuff! I also like the fact that it isn't out-sourced - made in the USA Baby!

  • Looks good. I'm going to look into it.
