KEYLESS - PUSH BUTTON START

was thinking about something like this for my karmann ghia.

if somebody jumps into the car and starts it while you are 10 feet away, i assume the engine will cut out once they are out of range of the key fob?

Just lock the doors if you go into the store or whatever . They cant start it if they cant get in

could you reduce the minimum range for the RF key to work? i dont want people to steal my car when im just 10 feet away from it.

@mypetridish If you let your car get stolen when you're 10 feet away, you have bigger things to worry about than keyless starters o.O.

that is like with some toyotas, and lexus's i have seen they work similar to that but the only difference is you have to put your foot on the brake that feature for those cars is called the smart key system

you can set the system to manual where you depress the button on the dogtag then the button on the car, so you cant start the system without pushing the button on the tag

Can it be done onmodern car ? I was told my Dodge Charger 2007 could not because of the sensor built in the key.

there are special like box's you can buy that when the key is inside it disrupts the signal so the car wont get it and no one can start your car if your car is close to the key in your house

is there any ways to do this with a switch? i want one switch for the battery and the other for the ignition, will that work? please help me
