  • That's a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air.

  • What kind of car is on the back ground parked, it looks like camaro 3rd gen maybe.

  • Thank You!

  • @RockBottom215 You're welcome. Thanks for watching my video.

  • What size speaker's and wattage is good for someone just starting DJing? oh what size amp need too? thank you! love this video.

  • I learned a lot from this video. Great video!

  • @RockBottom215 Thank you. I tried to make it informative & funny to get people's attention.

  • @RockBottom215 When I started in this business over 20 yrs ago I didn't know too much about equipment. I bought used equipment till I got some gigs to buy better gear. I recently bought powered speakers. I really like them a lot. They are made by RCF. I have 2 350 watt speakers and use a 800 watt powered sub. For me it works great for all of my venues. I would highly recommend powered speakers. Less to haul around, lightweight & very crisp sounding. Check out RCF.

  • some good tips :) thanks

  • that was some great advice funny at some parts too thanks for the video :)

  • @letty54able You're welcome. Thanks for watching.

  • Awesome, awsome video. Funny, Informative and ENTERTAINING. I love the song selection you used for every scene, tells me your quick with reading a crowd and their music taste (Guess it's experience right?). So how much do you charge per gig, if you don't mind me asking?

  • @exzcalibur Thanks for the comments. The prices are charge range from $295 to $795. It all depends on the amount of hours, location and date.

  • Hey, what was the first song that played when you started to load? It's hilarious! lol.

  • @runoftheianmiller21 The Benny Hill Theme Song. An old British TV show from the 70s. Very funny show too. lol

  • Hey, what was the first song that played when you started to load? It's hilarious! lol.

  • @runoftheianmiller21 Yakety Sax AKA Benny Hill theme

  • good video

  • what speakers do you use? thanks

  • I use Sonic speakers. I have had them for a long time. They work well.

    Thanks for watching.

  • lol nice.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks for the comment. Glad you like the video and that now you're in a good mood too! Take care,

    Wavey DB

  • Good tips ^^

lol, is that hanging pin pong ball there to know when to stop? Funny, my father has one of those in our garage too : )

  • Yes it is. The wife normally drives that vehicle during the week to work & back. So to avoid her crashing into the gear that sits in the garage I rigged up the cheap rope & ball to guide her safely in the garage. It's pretty fun that you noticed it.

  • :P I useally get bored watching something and I just kinda look at other things ont he screen, or in the video while sitll listining, and, I saw it : P

(Nice two other cars though too!)

  • Thanks for watching.

  • I noticed it lol. My grandpa did the same!

Wavey Davey knows all the great tricks of the trade!

    Much respect Davey!

  • door blocks! Thanks! good one..

  • I had to use them for a show last night. We had a big snow storm & was nice to be able to keep the door open while we we're quickly bringing our gear in trying not to get too much snow on it.

  • I think you bring to much crap to a gig, you got subs, stands, rack cases, sometimes you have to do 5 runs man you know how much work that is with all your equipment? Thats a nice water bottle you can use it for a tip jar too!

  • Thank you for the comment. I do not bring all of the equipment you saw. Some of that remains at home as additional back up equipment. I can do a load-in in 3 trips or less depending if I do a large or small set up. Tip jars are tacky & I never use them.

  • Very Good Tips Dave! The Only Spare Thing I Didn't Think To Bring But, Now I Carry Is A Spare Mixer And I Use Tic-Tacs, Altoids Are Too Strong. Practice "Clean Breath" & Enjoy!

  • Thanks Dave.

  • Really good video dave! I loved the tip about the door blocks!

  • Thanks.

  • Great video Dave, I got the same SKB racks you got. LOVE EM" really light and durable. Looking forward to your Halloween video this year!

    Robo

  • Thanks for the comment Robo. I really do like the SKB racks. Very lightweight compared to the old wooden one I used.

  • Good tips davey. Doesnt it get too cold in your garage during winter to leave speakers out there? That will affect your cones & electronics.

  • I does get cold out there sometimes. I've done this for almost 20 yrs. & never had a problem with the gear. Guess I've been lucky.

  • Great video! Expecially the "sweat towel" part. The only thing that I do different is, I wear a full set of regular street clothes while setting up, then change into my tux afterwords. When you scratch my Tux shoes, the scratches dont come out, so I dont wear them while setting up. Very good video and great tips though! I also bring an extra white Tux shirt with me JUST IN CASE I spill while I eat during dinner music. Us polocks like to be prepared for everything.

  • Thanks for the comment. Good tip also about wearing street clothes while setting up.

An extra white shirt is a good idea too.

  • Great video, very informational. But one question, is that a Trans Am under that car cover???...

    -Mike-

  • Hey Mike,

Thanks for watching. You are correct. It's a 2000 Pontiac TA

  • Awesome, i had an '01 WS-6, fun cars huh...

  • Yeah, the car is fun. I decided to hang on to it as they had stopped making that car.

  • Good thinkin', there the kinda car that will mature in price as they get older...

  • Hey wavey D, you ever put vodka and cran in that red jug?

  • Hey Tommy,

No only water. I never drink alcohol while DJing. If they see you drinking even one drink, they make think you had 10 & it doesn't look good. I like to keep the energy level high and may swig a mountain dew or cola. Alcohol slows me down.

  • Great vid Davey! I do a lot of those things, but I never thought about the doorstops. Any idea how much a cart like that runs? We have a nice one, but it doesn't seem as functional as the one you have. :)

  • Thanks,

It's a Rock-n-Roller cart. I bought it about 5 yrs. ago from Pro Sound & Stage Lighting. They have it listed in their catalog for $169.00 right now. It is definately worth the money.

  • i think the door stops are the best tip! i need to get some of those!

    Great TIPS!

  • Thanks. They're easy to make.

  • Some good tips there WDB.

  • Thanks man.

  • Hay is that a vet in the back ground

  • It's a 2000 Pontiac TA

  • good tip there

  • thank you

  • Nice tips thanks DJ Mikey Mike

  • Thanks bro

  • luv that "radio shack" bag...great video and plenty of great tips!!!

    Thanks

  • Thanks for the comment. I've learned from situations in the past to have the back up gear, cords, plugs, adapters, etc. Just wanted to share this with the DJ community.

  • great tips dave thanks!

  • you're welcome

  • great vid buddy

  • Thank you.

  • I also take a jug with ice water from the reverse osmosis system, and I throw a couple of tea bags in the jug.

  • Gotta love that reverse osmosis water. That's all I drink.

  • Us too, it's amazing all the stuff that RO filters out.

  • HA! Great work, Wavey! I'm very happy to see all of your cool tips in one video. Very entertaining, very informative. I'll give you a star or two for this one :)

  • Thanks bro!

  • DAAAAAAAVE! Good to see you back making vids again, bud. I can't agree more with every tip. Great stuff!

  • I tried to do something funny, entertaining & some serious tips too. Thanks for watching.

  • Nice to see another video from you. I'm interested to see what you have hiding under the car cover in the garage. ;)

  • my baby. 2000 pontiac t.a. ram air v-8. nevers sees rain or snow.

  • Very nice. Seems like we should have a DJ car cruise.

  • Is that a rock n roller cart?

  • Yes it is. Works really great when you have to haul your gear a long ways.

  • Thanks for the video Davey! Alot of great tips in there!

  • Your welcome. Thanks for watching.

  • GREAT video Wavey....some good tips..I need to find a cart like that..any idea where I could pick one up? Good to see you making videos again..Keep up the great work :)

  • If you have a Harbor Freight by you they have a nice selection of carts.

  • I totally forgot about Harbor Freight..I will check em out tomorrow. Thanks RRollergod!

  • Thanks for the comment. It's called a Rock-n-Roller cart. I ordered it from Pro Sound & Stage Lighting.

  • Thanks Wavey Davey B!
