Linda was brave to go on a popular t.v. show with Paul after all the bashing she had received for the previous 14yrs. Yes she piled on make-up (which didn't do her any favors) but back then you never heard anything positive said about Linda in the press. No wonder she seemed nervous and stiff. When you see videos of them hanging out with their family and friends, she is much more relaxed looking.

Say, Say, Say video cost US$500,000 and wasnt aired on Top Of The Pops initially as Paul had pulled it as he wasnt happy with the sound track. By the time he was happy the song was falling down the charts which meant it wouldnt get played on TOTP. This broadcast together with Channel 4s The Tube broadcast on 28th Oct 1983 ensured the song went back up the charts to reach its No2 position
