  • I love this game! Have spent hours playing it on the train. I'd love to get the cart for my real Atari XEGS. Or even better, get the cart and then go back in time to late 80s to give to child version of me.

  • You should make version on PC, ST, Amiga and sell it. You could be reach man.

  • Fantastic concept. I always knew the Atari could do come great things and you've proved it. It's limited graphically on certain things like total colors at higher res which always frustrated me. You just have to design to it's unique strengths. Good job!

  • made a cart with it ... i wanna have a cartridge

  • I'm impressed! 8 bit??? Could a C64 do this I wonder? I saw Crazy chessboard demo (or something like that) recently on Atari and was also very impressed. Looks like Atari was a capable machine.

  • I love how the ball keeps the beat with the music, awesome !

  • The music is my favourite part of this game. Sadly most of my friends don't get the point of games that don't require quad SLI graphics cards.

  • Bounder mixed with Ballblazer... looks and sounds amazing!

  • great gameplay and yeah the ball goes with the beat thats indeed great !

  • Great game, and music is very good (also uses double Pokey - stereo) and it nice synchronized with "boing" of the ball. Very addictive and playable!

  • Looks good ! Like a enhanced version of Trailblazer

  • I tried it out on an emu and it's def worth the download. It has excellent and addictive gameplay and very catch chipchoonz!

  • I'm not sure this game will get ported to anything else for a loooooong time, unfortunately.

  • dude, that looks really fun

  • Does this work on the Atari 800XL PAL version? Where can I get this? It looks awesome.

  • Yes, Yoomp work on a standard Atari 800XL PAL or NTSC. You can find the game disc using google

  • Looks like a mix between Tempest 2000 and Dshump.

  • This is pretty cool.

  • I love how everything in the game syncs up with the music. Is it playable on emulators?

  • Yes, it's playable on emulators and works on real NTSC and PAL 64K machines

  • State of the Art

  • Still waiting for NTSC version so I can play on my 800XL :(

  • Get the Atari800WinPLus emulator and the disk image. They're not hard to find, and you get the benefit of choosing between PAL and NTSC for any game you play.

  • New version is available now and NTSC compatibility is part of the upgrade

  • Current-gen design aesthetics replicated on an ancient platform - something I always wanted to do!

I am not a fan of such games (too monotonous for my tastes), but I give credit where it's due - this looks amazing!.

Can you get the game to run on Atari 5200?: )

  • current gen? never played Sky Roads?

  • When I said "current-gen design aesthetics", I was talking about the overall presentation of the game, not the actual game design. Games similar to this one in gameplay were around for ages.

  • If this had come out 20 years ago, Atari would probably still be in business! I'm not sure what is the most amazing thing about this game - the game itself or the fact that there are people out there still writing for ancient hardware!

What are these guys up to now/next then?

  • man, I miss my old Atari 800 at times.

    This game looks fantastic!

  • i don't have any issues with this game but it reminds me of Trailblazers for c64.

  • This game is GREAT!

  • AWESOME! I'm playing it emulated on my gp2x, it's a wonderful handheld

  • It works with only 64K memory. You can use 800XL, 65XE or 130XE for playing Yoomp! PAL or NTSC version

  • I stumbled across this on AtariMania just today. So much fun!

  • you did a great job, man!

    esp. nice soundtrack. #k.

  • You can't rate this till you play it, this is the most amazing game! Setting require a 130XE with 128Mb of RAM. I'd advice using the Joystick as the controller as keyboard controls have issues.

    Get the emulator here:

    atari800 DOT sourceforge DOT net

    And the game here:

    yoomp DOT atari DOT pl

If this wasn't so underground, it would take Tetris' throne!

  • Setting require a standard XE/XL Atari with 64KB of RAM !

  • The way the music ties in with the gameplay reminds me quite a bit of Q? Entertainment's games like Lumines and Every Extend Extra.

  • is this your project? is this your passion? cool...
