If anything Gary Oldman is in his OWN League by sheer talent. Gary Oldman is the Worldly Quintessential Character Actor. He is the probably the king of character actors. Daniel Day Lewis is in his OWN league for his ability to submerge and gave one of the most influential performances (TWBB) in film history. And Ralph Fiennes is in his OWN League for his unequaled Voice and how his Voice parades through his characters and overshadows other actors and the mystery behind his gaze of emotion

Best two character actors in the world, Daniel Day Lewis and Gary Oldman. His best performance ever was the part he played in the movie The Contender. He was simply amazing in that movie.He will always be underrated but is respected immensely among his acting peers. With that being said however , Daniel Day Lewis is a notch above him and every other actor out there. Lewis is in a league of his own. Not one actor can touch him when it comes to character acting. He is brilliant. End of story

Among the three, I prefer Daniel Day-Lewis. He is an actor who plays very well any character, he is brilliant, I love it.

Nice slideshow of possibly the 3 best actors of our time. None of them ever disappoint. Daniel Day-Lewis is incomparable, the absolute best of the lot. Ralph Fiennes is always solid, and incredibly sexy. I do believe he is incapable of turning in a bad performance. As for Gary Oldman, he is definitely in the same league. He is such a subtle actor that he often gets totally lost in the character he is portraying. Thanks for posting this.

Gary Oldman IS in the same league. Natural talented (doesn't use the method acting), king of chameleons, makes the accent you want, soulful and has the most incredible range. DDL and RF are of course incredible too.

you dont know what method acting is, do you? Gary Oldman uses essentialy the same techniques that both Fiennes and Day-Lewis do, which is based on the teachings of Stanislavski.
