A.) You were gunning away from you so you couldnt see what you were doing, hence there were some places where silicone wasn't even applied into the joint. You had to smear it in with a wet finger. Gun towards you would let it glide more freely over the grout intervals and see easier.
B.) You should have filled the bath 1st. No weight in it when you sealed it means the bath wasn't at full flex. So when you do get in Body+Water weight, will split it away in no time.
