If America had more instructors like this, our nations poor mathematical comprehension would indeed be greatly improved. I can honestly say that I hate math and I rarely want nothing to do with it. This guy simply makes math fun and that is key to developing interest and understanding in a field (math) that I may not be so familiar with.

Nice way to remember the rational exponent: The tree method. The denominator is the root of the tree, so you take the root of the number, and the number on top of the tree stays outside the root.

@Joeki11a He asked because normally if the numerator is greater than the denominator it can be changed into a mixed fraction. In this case 4/3 would've become 1 and 1/3 but apparently that rule doesn't apply here. If that were the case it would've made the 8 into a 9.
