  • Valentina, your playing is so very beautiful and powerful. I have no idea what those 11 disliked about this performance, perhaps they are jealous or don't lke talented women. Whatever, your performance is wonderful. What I would give to be on stage while you perform! The best sweats in the house.

  • A real delight. Thank you, Valentina!

  • the most beautiful second movement imho

  • Ma dove va a trovare tanta naturalezza sulla tastiera???? IMPRESSIONANTE comunque anche la bravura.

  • Val, this 2nd movement is my favorite, and you play this so beautifully...

  • Gracias lisitsa por tocar rachmaninoff , ese moviemiento siempre me hace llorar y ver cuan grande es la vida

  • Thank you for reposting movement #2! I've been looking for it for many months! I listen to Valentina playing this concerto on a daily basis.

  • this is wonderful

  • Concerto per pianoforte ed orchestra fantastico, interpretazione magnifica! Però preferisco il primo ed il terzo movimento.

  • Rachmaninoff wrote some of the most beautiful music ever!!!

I don't care who plays it.

PS. don't forget the rest of the orchestra.

  • kinda wondering what orchestra and conductor shes playing with my self

  • Mrs. Lisitsa, you just gave me goosebumps. Well played, bravo!

  • This is one of my favorite pieces of music, and she plays so beautifully. Thanks to my brother for telling me about this great player.

  • love it!!

  • a vilag legszebb zeneje

  • Gorgeous and sensuous. The performance, too. But I STILL prefer Weissenberg's ending to this movement (from 09:10): Majestic, Huge, Ponderous, Superb: Beats even Richter's.

  • Hey Sagalat, Valentina is Gorgeous and sensuous.

I love her balance with the orchestra here.

I think Weissenberg is an under rated pianist.

Some of my favorite Rachmaninoff 2nd's would be

Rachmaninoff himself, Van Cliburn and Arcadi Volodos.

  • I wonder why people dare to cough at those concerts! I hate it!!!! Isn't this too beautiful to even stop breathing?

  • Im agree with you. ^^ i saw her playing in mexico city too.

  • i have this on a 78 record set of eight disc its old and love it every time!

  • I have that set also... a great version I think. A difficult balance between the climax of this movement being overly fast, versus the rest of the movement being to slow. I love listening to the great collaboration's solutions.

  • I actually think this Orchestra is really good... They got so into the music during the first part it was incredible!

  • interpretation ys excellent!

  • I only wish the orchestra met her standards. Heavenly!

Her playing amazes me, so much passion.

  • I've seen her play live twice in Mexico City. Her playing is beautiful and she is stunning.

  • this is probably the most beautiful piece of music ever written, and will most likely never be surpassed

  • i wish i was there

  • wonderful Rachmaninoff sentiment-melodies of his still find there way in our culture-

  • congratulations for the beutifull interpretetion. if you close the eyes you can feel in the heaven

  • eric carmen was inspired by rachmaninov's melodies in this 2nd movement. isn't it one of the most beautiful things ever...?

  • carmen's commercial hit was taken from the third movement of Rachmaninoff's 2nd Symphony...not from the 2nd Piano Concerto...it is an incredible work...enjoy it sometime!

  • em... "All By Myself" was inspired by the 2nd movement of the 2nd piano concerto. nothing to do with the symphony at all, unless you were talking about another song.

  • Sorry Katsu...forgot all about that one...I can see where it was inspired by the 2nd Piano, but not as directly as "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again" was by the 2nd Symphony...almost note for note of the main 3rd movement theme. I had forgotten about Carmen's ABM. Thanks for the reply!

  • Brava!!

  • i think its cool how the violinists all move together

  • yeah Eric Carmen "All By Myself" wrote that song, and credits Rachmaninoff in it.

That melody at the end with the strings always gets me.

  • hey, has anyone heard that pop song "all by myself"? the melodie gets so similar in some parts... at the begining and at the end it´s icredible..

  • such a beautiful woman & concerto, what a delightfully dream!

  • Valentina is a GODDESS! A young Argerich!

  • one of the best pieces ever!!!!
