The US is suppose to be about individual liberties and freedoms, not special treatment for collectives and groups.
The US is suppose to be about equal opportunity, not socialized equal outcome.
The US Constitution was basically made to protect the people from big reckless government.
--- Think about it
Controlling the economy means controlling the people as seen by Hitler. Obviously, obama is transferring control to government forcing Americans to become more reliant and dependent on them.
WW2 didnt get us out of the GD. I wouldn't call drafting 3-4 million men (they were counted as "employed" too), killing 100s 1000s of people, decimating cities, huge taxes, huge deficits, near lack of consumer goods an economic recovery.
Since one couldn't buy consumer goods the only thing you could do was save money. Once the industry converted back to a consumer economy years worth of savings was unleashed, including 30% drop in taxes and 66% drop in govt spending when the war was over.
@ForTehNguyen And I think FDR was too busy with foreign policy that he stopped screwing with domestic policy. The shedding of his regulation helped things recover much more quickly.
Yeah that's utter nonsense. If they have the backbone to publish the data and the logic they used to analyze it I'd be shocked.
By Obama's own admission (he seemed rather proud in fact) a lot of those "saved" jobs were public sector; i.e. a drain on the private sector.
Anything job that is unproductive will remain so and simply fall over the minute the welfare crutch is removed; so we've siphoned wealth from the productive to delay the inevitable while damaging the economy long term.
What serious economic analyst gives 2 shits about jobs "saved" when reporting on employment and growth?? How the hell do you measure a "saved" job? Do you ask the state gov't and private sector bosses' "how many jobs did you not cut b/c you got all this money"?? I'd like to know how they calculate that. Must be funny math.
All sensible experts agree that the bank bailouts and tarp, if anything, were what prevented a 'depression.' Of course, that doesn't excuse those two actions.
Joe Biden also looked like an ass with that black piece on his head.
Biden and Obama are such economic idiots. Obama actually pushed the stimulus with apocalyptic language and the "depression" we would face without it. But guess what! Even by their OWN admission, at best only "2 million" jobs have been "saved or created" by the stimulus! 2 million in a workforce of 152 million!! How in the hell would we have gone into a depression without those alleged 2 million new stimulus jobs? What a fucking joke. The economic advisers' chart said 9% without stimulus.
Liz should read about the "Depression of 1920". Or watch Tom Woods' speech about it. There was no keynesian stimulus there, and it ended in about a year and a half.
Meanwhile, the great depression ended after World War II ended.

Great video, Dan Mitchel is so awesome. I wish he mentioned that it was WW2 that got us out of the depression, not FDR.
