i was having trouble with blitz on ePSXe, figured it was bugged or something,

but it seems to be an interface problem, i think the usability isnt particurly good because its an old game so the conventions for menus are different,

e.g. when i try to use a potion i seem to have to press ok too many times.

@abe100031 ye what i was doing wrong was not using the blitz properly, theres a special way to do it i think

you press x on blitz then do the move ( left right left for 'pummel' ), then press x again to make him do it, that should let you win, i had a lot of trouble at the start of the game got stuck loads, my people were too weak and i kept running out of potions etc.

I've given up on the game, I can't do the Blitz attack.

I've tried every single solution there is in the comments, but to no avail.

Give up, the game is not worth your time if you're having to go on the internet to figure out a simple button command.

There are plenty of RPG's out there that don't suddenly ask you to use a mechanic you've never heard of or used before.

Like Golden Sun, that's a brilliant RPG.

Go play that.

If you can't pull off a simple Pummel with Blitz, the help from the ingame Tutorial, -and- help from the Internet, then I'd like to see how you handle pulling off a Bum Rush.

You don't seem stupid, so I don't see why this of all things would be such a problem.

Whatever, sucks that you missed out on what's often called one of the best/the best RPG of all time.

Totally not joking.

I went into FF6 really excited to play what is referred to as being one of the best RPG's there is.

But I seriously spent around 40 minutes looking and trying different ways to do the Blitz attack.

It doesn't matter, I've spoiled the game for myself.

There are plenty of good RPG's I play though, so I don't mind giving this one a miss.

Are you playing on an Emulator or something? If your button layouts all screwed up that could have something to do with it. XD

I was gonna say if you -really- wanted to get past it, you could download ZSNES, a FF6 Rom and FF3usME [an FF6 Editor] and then you can just edit the battle's script to end as soon as it starts which is really easy, but you said you don't mind missing out on it, so it doesn't matter now. :P

The problem that people seem to be having is that they are pressing A shortly after selecting Blitz then entering the code.

You are supposed to put the Blitz code in while the cursor is over Sabin, not after.

Ok , I'll admit. Took me a few times before I got it right again when I replayed the game after all these years. All you do is go down to blitz , and hit A. Thats when you enter Down , Down , Left or whatever the first blitz is. Then you just hit A again. It's not timed or anything , you could sit there all day and press one button an hour. Just remember pick blitz , put in the command , and hit A when you're done. Basically hit blitz with A , put in the buttons , then press A again.

you push left right left in between selecting blitz and selecting on sabin to use it, sabin should not be moving when you hit left right left

Blitz takes a little practicing, select blitz, press A, do the combo, press A to verify. It takes some getting used to but once you do you should do it pretty much every time without fail (providing your controller is good.)

This game is awesome! I'm getting the GBA version as soon as I can! You must have had a lot more random battles than I had, and that's alot. I had 4000 GP from the Random Battles alone.

thanks for uploading this video. but i've looked on gaming help sites everywhere as i can't seem to get the blitz to work correctly. can you give me any advice? when do i start the sequence and how long do i have to do it? is it worth slowly pressing the buttons one at a time for the accuracy? i'm sooooooo angry and i might consider just giving up unless i can get this over with. thank you.

Well, what Raganarok said, basically, select Blitz, and input the blitz combo before selecting Sabin with X.
