The origina screen play and title for the movie was 51st State. But, the Marketing department felt that it would affect the marketability of the movie World Wide especially in the UK. The title came forma line in the screenplay in which the Lizzard proclaims that Britain isnt anything but the 51st state. The libe was left in the movie, but the title of the movie was changed.
