  • super job mate.. fair play

  • Nice setup! Good job!

  • Dan, That really is a nice looking setup, there's obviously lots of work gone into it. It looks like you've added a second flywheel inside the original, to get that ring gear: Have you done anything to the bearing on that side of the engine, or are you confident that it'll cope with the extra weight?

  • @AdeV2

Hi Ade, Actually I dont like the second flywheel (My Mate Tony insisted as he is the one that starts it every morning) but from a balancing point of view it was the only way to add the (indian) starter kit and keep the engine in the room!

I dont envisige any bearing issues but am watching for oil leaks.

In an ideal world I would have liked to start the engine using a smaller pulley and v belt setup linked to a starter / alternator to charge something!

  • Nice installation , well thought out and good workmanship.

Am I correct in thinking that the engine cooling water and exhaust heat recovery are used soley to heat the thermal store and the heating and hot water for the house is then taken from the thermal store via an indirect coil ?

How many hours has the CS run on WMO ? Any issues ?

  • @turboslag

    Hi TS

    Thanks for your comments

Westbury CHP runs on WVO (Waste vegetable oil) and you are almost correct. Infact the indirect coil is for mains hot water only and the body of the store is used for the heating circuits. Over eight months running time on WVO with very few issues. Keep the fuel as clean and hot as possible.
