Good device but extremely slow by today's standards. Nokia should have taken into account higher graphics along with better processing. In fact, the device needed more of everything: memory, processing, graphics and I'd even push to say a glass cover over the touch screen. Really ambitious for nokia to have put this device out on the market with almost no niche whatsoever. However, I really enjoyed using mine, that is, when it worked.

Really good review. I really like the look and build of the N810 and despite its age, it looks like a super useful tablet. I just bought one (new) for 45 GBP ($72) which I think is amazingly good value considering the higher price of other tablets that don't have GPS. I actually bought it to use on my ebike (pedelec), primarily as a rear-view mirror with a mini USB-camera, but I'm sure the Sat Nav maps will come in handy too.

I have the WiMAX edition - bought it because the Nokia site boasts that it's "Skype™ CERTIFIED" & "Has Built-In Webcam" no USB charging is ridiculous, overall response is slow (processor has no guts!), touch screen is glitchy (javascript interaction on fbk etc is sometimes almost impossible) ...multitasking? - forget it! Youtube works ok, but try to watch a video on facebook & you'll be told to download flash (but which flash for linux?!). I've tried to install flash many times to no avail...

It has a main defect: it isn't built by Apple. The touch tech doesn't run so smoothly as at an iPod Touch for example. It's hard to come from a multitouch experience to a stylus based one... Not interested at all.

You should have used the tear browser instead, it's faster.

And you should have turned on the bluetooth to connect to a Nokia phone like the N95, N96, N97 it works faster that way in my experience.

Also you could have used the Canola app or the My tube app or the digia@scene app instead.

N810 has lots of options and is always being upgraded. For someone with a 3g phone and bluetooth it is very nice using internet.

It does not work on a GSM service. It is not a phone.. What it is is sort of a miniaturised laptop - a PALM TOP computer.

What it does is that it can connect to a WLAN anywhere (if you have the username and password when reqd), and then you can send/receive emails, run skype on it and do a lot more things like a regular laptop.
