@reifenator I actually haven't. Its top on my list to try this year. i do know the mervin sales rep personally and he told me its a torsionally stiff free ride slayer. with that being said i know how a board that stiff feels on hard pack. i would say if you have fairly strong legs and have a bit of weight behind you, you will love the billy goat. if all you ride is hardpack maybe think of something like a Gnu riders choice or even a Lib T-rice. Your legs wont be as tired after a long day.
I'm 5'9", 195lbs. Have you tried the T. Rice HP 161.5 yet? How is the turn initiation and how does it do on jumps and riding switch? Also which board would you recommend for me the TRS 159 or the T. Rice HP 161.5?
@BlackOPSK9 Have you ever seen Travis Rice ride? He rides switch all the time and hits HUGE jumps. The T-rice can feel like alot of board tho. Its stiffer, more pop. that kinda thing. Id say if your all about turn initiation you might like the TRS 59 more.. I have a TRS i ride for more slushy fun days or even jumps... The TRS is a just slightly softer in the tip and tail also not as stiff torsionally. I feel it might be a better choice for you. But my TRS is a 157.. the 159 might be stiffer
@maste1986 : At the time of this video i weighed in around 165-170 plus the weight of my gear.. the T.Rice157 was pretty decent in the deep stuff but now i weigh more like 180 so i am upgrading to the 161.5. Horsepower is the way to go. feel free to ask anymore questions. ive tested the whole LibTech/GNU lineup, along with Burton, Rossi, Nitro, Ride, Endeavour and Flow.
I ended up getting a 161, been loving it!
