Just a clarification guys this is 2 gtx295s and 2 4870x2s having four of either one is not possible for rendering in windows. Also both crossfire and sli have problems in scaling and using both gpus after the gpus are more than 2 due to various reasons, however having two of these cards uses only 2 pcie slots which can work at 16x speed both where as if you where to run 4 individual cards it could never do that at best be .

These two GTX 295 do not work very well in my pc. It just not fast enough. Looking at one GTX295 which Bandwidths is around 223 plus adding another 223 would go very good and yet I can't play metro 2033 very good. It lags as hell.

Stay away from SLI. Single card is much better

4 5870s beat 4 480s? Not ever happening, the 5870 couldn't even do it overclocked. Let alone the 580, which is ~20% more performance than the 480, and about 40%+ more than the 5870, while keeping about as cool as the 5870.

Video cards can bottleneck the older quad cores, so if your thinking about building a new gaming rig then go with the Intel Core i7 quad or you can venture into the land of AMD if you want to save a few bucks. If you decide to go AMD I would go with the 965BE

im running a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT. Its totaly crap so don't you think that could be a bigger issue? because all my other system specs do match the Recommended settings of Arma2. its just the graphic card. anyway just trying to figure this all out so all the help is welcome.

@TheMast3rBF2 - Drop that 8600GT it was never a good video card. I would suggest getting a cheaper 200 series NVIDIA card until the 300 series comes out or ATI has the 5000 series out. If your looking to go with NVIDIA I would pop in a GTX 260 or GTX 275 don't waste your money on the GTS 250. If you want ATI I would try either the 5770 or the 5850. If you have a few extra dollars burning a hole in your pocket then try the 5870 or 5970. GTX 295 isn't worth buying with 300 Series so close.
