@MatteoSKraftsow Yeah for everybody who's asking, me and my friend actually went and try this. As newcomers we were lent some equipments by very nice people. I tried different weapons. I personally think they feel almost the same but people there told me that different weapons had different style to use. I just swinged randomly at everyone. We joined a team of humans. Fighting was awesome. I killed like 1 guy and I was killed about 50 times. I recommend this to EVERYONE. IT WAS FUN! THANK YOU!

The guy who made this had just got done reading LOTR and thought "Man...i want to do that" and made this, not really ment to be SCA or anything, more a cheap way to get sword fighting in. The bigger battles are a little more realistic with shield walls and such, but for the most part its just a "Lets just fight" game =3.

It is loosly based off LOTR with took place in a time alot like the middle ages. This is just a game. lol You should look into the SCA their nothing but history, actual armor and swords no foam or elf ear, you'd like that allot better. I'm guessing you live in England? The SCA is huge there so you already probably know them.

First, i know that there probably are but, i haven't seen any samurai in videos of dagorhire, do people typically play samurai, or is it mostly medieval Europe and middle earth?

Also, are you allowed to grab the handle of someone's weapon, or the other person's arm/hand while fighting?

Technically, you can be whatever character you want in dagorhir, and just where i live there is indeed one samurai figure. And no, you cannot grab the handle of another player's weapon, just grapple them.

U can be what ever you want. but yeah its just not that practical to be a samurai unles u get good with a single sword. cuz u tipicaly want tot have some sort of protection like a shield and samurai didn't use shienlds. but yeah be whatever u want :)

I know exactly what you mean :) I like using my glaive most of the time, but I really do enjoy practicing with my katana. Luckily for me, most members of my clan don't use shields because they are too cheap to make them :P But yeah, they are totally impractical in large fights against shields, but spearman and dueling other swords are easy pickings lol.

What they did in Role Models was tap-fighting. What we do is FULL CONTACT combat sport. You can shield-kick, grapple, full-on baseball bat swing at people, shiled bash, etc.
