No its not a lot, it just looks like it. Theres 27 band pass filters (the row of boards to which the LEDs are attached). and the initial view of electronics is power and signal to the boards. Each board only looks at a particular piece of the spectrum. To those looking for schematics, just find a bandpass filter (analog or digital) and select values to get the right Hz ranges for each channel.
