It's "Rosie the Riveter" preformed by Suzy Bogguss. This was a common song sang by several people during the era. I like this version the best, but Amazon.com has many versions.
Hey thanks to both of you! Sorry I haven't responded earlier. I did this as a class project my junior year of college, as a history major. I used Windows Movie Maker. I don't mind if you use it for class presentations as I have put my name on it. That's what Youtube is all about sharing video. Good luck with your presentation!
Hi SwimAim, that was great, if you dont mind, I was gonna show this as a snippet for a class presentation (fully acknowledging your work of course- just showing it from YouTube) as it highlights some of the issues I need to raise about the paradigm shift of gender in the workforce circa WWII. I will wait for your permission but say thanks for a great video anyway (as in for my personal viewing), well done! Did you use Final Cut Pro or something?
been doing a lot of recearch about the 1940's womens clothing, attitude,of course, the "rosie".growing up in SoCal my g'ma,aunts & cousins all worked in the aero factories!I was thrilled to hear the reference to the "E" pin!I just bought my "E" production pin off EBay!I wear it on my work coveralls!I am a Hairdresser & have a pair with my company logo on the backk with my name embrodered above the pocket!Just a great video!Ya did good, Kid!!!
Wonderful video on Rosie the Riveter. Those gals did fantastic war work to get those planes airborne for WW11, in U.S.A. and Great Britain! A great tribute to them. See my Mum's video, on rosie the riveter. (Sue)
