This video sucks, even though the song is really good. Why this guy gotta die in this story. This isn't what the song is about. The song is about a dude who's wife/ girlfriend/ significant other is steppin' out on him and he's going to call it a day with her. This crappy video makes it out that a little arguement happened, the the cat gets killed up in a car accident. Horseshit. This is why I rarely watch videos. Many songs get fucked up in translating for the 'politically correct public'. Yuck!

The video for TV is sweet, sure, but that isn't what Neil Finn of Crowded house wrote it about. If you really want to know it was written to describe an unhealthy relationship where one person feels the other is 'somewhere else' even when together, and if they don't open up and be honest, it's over. As someone who actually does like country music, but who is also a big Crowded House fan, I have to say George Canyon butchered this song. When Crowded House sings it, I get goosebumps. When George Canyon sings it, I want to vomit. He took something simple and beautiful and piled WAY too much cheese on it. I may be constipated for a month just from watching this video once.

It seems this song was written about a love gone wrong. George C. put more soul & compassion into remaking the song & made it sound just as such. Crowded house are awesome artists as well but their version is hard, where as George presented this in more of a love song dynamic. Im with TAMTUBE88 on this one..terry..if you dont like country dont listen to it and George C. isnt the only singer to remake a song , its nothing new, musicians have been doing it for years. Remakes are not meant to be the same, if they were we would just listen to the originals. Even the Beatles did covers, as did the Rolling stones...in turn many people have covered their music. Lenny Kravitz covered the Guess Who's American Woman, and is one of my all time favorite songs, and I shudder to say better than the original. Just sayin

@terryberry48 they don't steal it..in order to legally release it you pay royalties to the song writers to be able to release as you are making money off another's work and even big name artists some times record a song written by another person for them doesn't mean they can't write a song.
I heard this song on the radio today for the first time as I was driving home from work. I have loved this song and I think George Canyon does an amazing job, it was so beautiful I was actually choked up. Then I got home and looked up the video. I have a husband, young son and a dog! we haven't been getting along very well lately, so when I watched this, it really made me think alot, I think the message is clear, cherish what you have bcz you never know when something tragic will happen.
