The Jag XJS appeared in 1975 as a 1976 model. Jag, Triumph and MG were all under British Leyland at the time. I did get to test drive a 1972 Triumph Spitfire back in '81, that little car had so much torque and a racing clutch which popped out from under my foot while I was at a stop sign. The car just rolled forward and I was amazed the engine didn't die. BTW, my mom was born n raised in Enfield.
